Based in Slough, our client is one of the largest Caterpillar dealers in the world. Acting as their official dealer for East and West Africa, the Middle East and Western Siberia, they offer their customers a complete range of power generation, construction, mining and materials handling equipment. Growing at a rate of 20% year-on-year, our client has plans to double in size over the next five years. An opportunity has now arisen for a Business Information Systems Project Engineer to join their team.

As a Business Information Systems Project Engineer, you will be responsible for successfully implementing, supporting, and developing new in-house software systems. These systems remotely monitor the conditions of our client's equipment that is being used in diverse territories.

Through the identification of potential equipment problems before failure, our client can help their customers minimise unscheduled downtime and productivity loss. You will troubleshoot system issues within the Business Objects system and develop the BO Web Intelligence and develop and modify BO Universes, and Webi and Deski reports.

Additionally, you will participate in various projects, such as trialling and field-following new technologies, such as MineStar, VIMS, Terrain, and integrating them with other external systems and platforms.

As part of your role, you will be required to undertake international travel.

To be considered for this role, you must have an IT based degree, or similarly focussed discipline.

It is also essential to have the following experience gained within your studies, a commercial environment, or similar:

- Development of BO Universes, Webi, and Deski reports
- Development of dashboards integrating Xcelsius with Live Office, Qaawa, Webi, and SAP BW
- Development of reports using SSRS, MDX, and SSAS

As a Business Information Systems Project Engineer, you must possess excellent organisational and problem solving skills and an analytical approach. Self-motivated and proactive, you must be a strong communicator and have the desire and determination to continuously drive change and improvement.

Along with a strong IT background of SAP Business Objects and Oracle databases, to be successful in this role, it would be of great benefit if you can demonstrate some mechanical engineering understanding, education, or background.
