Construction and Logistic Manager (140as) vacancy in East Dorset ()

My client, who is a specialist niche high-end mobile accommodation provider, is now seeking a Construction and Logistics Manager to become part of the team.

You will be reporting to the Commercial Director and responsible for the following:
- Planning the setting up and taking down of all equipment at events
- Managing the logistics of all events
- Managing the logistics team deployed at all events
- Managing the warehousing and maintenance of all equipment used at events
- Stock control
- Managing the logistics sub contractors used at all events
- Planning and managing all transport used for events

Other day to day responsibilities:
- During the off season, planning for the following year
- Maintenance of meticulous computer records appertaining to logistics planning and management
- Part of the general office admin team

Essential skills and personality type:
- Ability to plan and monitor progress against that plan
- A team leader, understanding that most staff are temporary and part time
- Proficient IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the use of the internet and intranet.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and exercise good judgement
- Strong communication skills - verbal and written
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with minimal supervision
- Team player - ability to establish and maintain relationships with the directors and staff
- Numerate
- Must have positive attitude
- Reliable, trustworthy
- Must have a flexible approach to work
- There will be a requirement to work out of normal office hours

Initially this will be a contract role for the next few months, and over the winter period, working maybe 3-4 days per month at the depot in East Dorset to make sure that the equipment is ready for the new season; however, after this the client is likely to be looking for this individual to join them as a permanent member of the team.

The temporary accommodation site may be at various locations across the UK, and in the future in Europe, at festivals and other such outdoor events - one of their largest sites has over 170 rooms/tents with all rooms having individual showers and toilet facilities as well as 125 seat dining room with all associated kitchen facilities etc. The build of the site will also include integration of all water, power, sanitation and other utilities and ancillaries. .

You will be expected to be based at the location for the whole period of the build, use and rip down periods; accommodation will be provided by the client.

At certain locations you will have a Site Foreman, and anything up to 40 part time personnel working there, but at other sites you may have direct control of the part time personnel.

Therefore, the ideal individual for this role is someone who can project manage a site from start to finish and who comes from a logistics/construction background. You will need strong management and motivational skills, and excellent attention to detail, as my client is offering the same service and benefits as staying at a 5* Hotel.

He is offering an excellent daily rate for the rest of this season and the winter months, but at the beginning of the new season next year will look to take on this individual as a permanent member of the team.
