My Client is a 100% Afghan-owned and operated leading multi-industry provider with a good reputation for service delivery that meets or exceeds client’s expectations in the most complex provinces country-wide.

Through their widely recognizable strengths they maintain the technical expertise, professionalism and financial capacity to succeed. They are currently seeking a Transport Manager, based in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Reporting into the Petroleum Operations Manager, the Transport Manager (Fuels) will optimize the Operational Supply Chain transport focusing on long term performance by ensuring continued supply and replenishment to the customer.
• You will provide on-going solutions to Supply Chain challenges that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations.
• You will maximise efficiencies within the areas of transport with a view to value adding to the organisation by reducing costs. You will be responsible for the day-to-day transport operations, meeting the budgets set for the department.
• You will manage staff and operations to assure timely and cost efficient transportation of all incoming and outgoing movements.
• You will plan and assure adequate equipment for storage, loading, and delivery of goods.
• You will be responsible for scheduling, routing, budget administration, freight bill presentation, and contract negotiations.
• You will work with carriers and freight forwarders to streamline the flow of goods.
• You will coordinate the planning and scheduling of the transportation needs of the company, whilst been responsible for the organization and direction of employees to carry out the transportation duties such as planning routes, scheduling deliveries and tracking materials or products through the Supply Chain.
• You will create and implement SOP’s in accordance with safe working practices
• You will manage and coordinate the Transport needs in accordance with the sites operational needs
• You will utilize skills to manage resources to cost effectively and efficiently complete any tasks within the sites operations, whilst establishing and maintaining good relationships with clients and management.
• You will manage a fleet of vehicles, optimising usage.
• You will develop new business opportunities
• You will develop and manage fuels transport team to ensure efficient and timely supply to the customer.
• You will solicit, evaluates, and analyse contractual bids along with negotiate and administer dedicated carrier agreements
• Determines economical traffic patterns and specifies routes
• Finally, you will ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is completed, accurately and submitted on designated times to the designated personnel.

You will be educated to a tertiary level, preferably with a qualification in Management in either Supply Chain or Operational doctrine
• You will have extensive experience of senior fuel operations with a major Petroleum company including Shipping, trucking and pipeline transportation, stock control and strategic planning
• You will have a sound knowledge of international operations, planning and management.
• You will have a strong commercial awareness, and financial astuteness as well as strong negotiation skills.
• You will have a working knowledge of carrier operation, shipment routing, and distribution methods; experience in industrial transportation operation, consolidator systems and techniques; must have understanding of the complexities of Transportation.
• You will have the flexibility and ability to cope with several tasks simultaneously are required
• You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.
• You should be able to work in a multi cultural environment and possess excellent management and organizational skills.
• You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities.
• Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be PC / IT literate with Microsoft Office skills.

In return they are offering an excellent salary base, with 6 weeks R&R per year, all flights, food, accommodation and insurance will be provided by the client, you will be living in a secure villa in Kabul.
