My client an International Defence Prime is currently seeking a T23 Lifex Programme Manager within the Marine & Technology division, based at Devonport, Plymouth

Job Description:

A T23 Life Extension (Lifex) Programme Manager is required to work in the T23 Class Output Management (COM) Team to lead the Life Extension programme for the T23 Class of Frigates.

The primary role is to be responsible for the overall programme management and the provision of support to the MoD T23 Strategic Class Authority for the planning and co-ordination of all T23 Life Extension activities including the T23 Capability Sustainment Programme.

The job will mainly involve working both in MoD Abbey Wood liaising with all the Equipment Projects delivering Combat System and Marine Engineering capabilities and equipment into the T23 and at Devonport working with the waterfront teams planning the forthcoming maintenance periods to realise that capability.

The post holder will work within the T23 Class Output Management Team and will lead a small team of subject matter experts helping to integrate the various packages.

The post holder could either be based in Bristol or Devonport but be expected to regularly travel between the two sites.

This is an exciting new post with a number of novel challenges, working within a joint Ministry, Industrial and Service Environment, previous MoD or relevant Industrial programme management experience is desirable.

Qualifications Required

The applicant will preferably be qualified to Degree Level in a relevant Engineering subject or as determined by the Babcock COM Delivery Teams Leader based on incumbent relevant expertise.

The applicant will also have a good understanding of Royal Navy Warship through life support processes, and MoD Capability Management.

Programme or Project Management experience or qualifications desirable.

Security:
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.

The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
