Lead Installation and Commission Engineer (149jc) vacancy in Southern England ()

My client who is a respected and established UK communications company are now looking for a number of Lead Engineers to cover the South of UK on various commissioning and base site maintenance works.

You will be leading a team of Microwave & PCN/Tetra Antenna Riggers working on various projects with also requirement to support on going Base Site Maintenance activities.

You will provide on going Technical / Theoretical & Problem solving support as required to successfully deliver I&C services to internal and external customers.

The role is essential to maintain a high level of quality and efficiency within the field services team & having the skills / knowledge / commitment to assist with new projects.

Key Accountabilities
• Must have excellent quality control for transmission / PCN / Tetra I&C to internal and external customers
• Fully competent & track record to lead / develop / support & encourage his rigging teams to be high performers.
• Consultancy support for bid and project teams on expertise area
• Definition of tasks for all I&C & maintenance activities to allow efficient scheduling of resource
• Preparation & delivery of documentation material such as site surveys & Hand over packs.
• Delivery of internal practical training to enhance practical transmission I&C skills within the field services team
• Establish with H&S policy makers the best practice procedures for any transmission I&C activities on Airwave infrastructure
• On-call facility for field resource to gain necessary advise on issues/problems with specific tasks

Responsibilities for people
• Responsibilities for staff - number and type and the reporting structure (including line manager and direct reports):
• Management of a rigging team & only expand the role should the volume of transmission I&C services demanding greater subject matter experts to be available.

Essential knowledge and specialist skills
• Any essential qualifications (GCSE/A levels/degree/professional level)
• Current certification for Advanced climbing, tower rescue, H&S working at heights, roof top safety.
• Has attended numerous NEC / PCN / Rigging & connector training courses.
• Excellent Lead rigger skills & management.

Specific technical and professional skills
• Proven track record of being a Lead Rigger & delivering an excellent product to the customer showing quality being delivered on time & in budget.

Type and level of minimum experience required
• 5 years experience of transmission I&C services in the mobile telecoms industry
• 2 years experience in Lead Rigging management

Desirable knowledge and skills
• Mobile telecoms transmission I & C – ideally NEC but not essential
• Also due to the nature of the clients sites, you will need to have either current SC clearance or the ability to gain such clearance
