Our Client a property maintenance provider, which specialises in gas and electrical installation and maintenance solutions to private/local authority domestic, commercial and industrial properties.
The role of electrician will be to undertake the key duties listed below and will ensure that all Health and Safety regulations as well as any Company safety procedures in place are adhered to prior to commencement of any job or task.

Purpose
Required to install and maintain electrical systems/installations on behalf of local authorities providing housing and property maintenance services. You will be required to carry out programmed and reactive installation and maintenance activities, within both empty and tenant occupied buildings/ properties.

Key Duties
� Required to inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for repairs or replacements to ensure compliance with the relevant British Standard.
� Able to carry out electrical installations, planned maintenance, responsive repairs to a good standard.
� Able to fault find and making electrical systems safe, wherever necessary.
� Able to work unsupervised if required.
� Able to work on own initiative.
� Responsible for monitoring and maintaining your company issued plant/equipment at all times.
� Responsible for monitoring and maintaining your company issued materials at all times and ordering replacement item in a timely fashion (when required).
� Ensure all health and safety paperwork is in place (and adhered to) for each job/ project e.g. method statements, risk assessments.
� Receive verbal and written instructions for each job or project and investigate the site where the work is to be carried out.
� Be able to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, components, using test equipment to locate the cause of the breakdown and wherever possible correct the problem.
� To ascertain the exact specifications for the job possibly by discussion with line manager/ supervisor and make the appropriate arrangements.
� To effectively test electrical systems and record the information in accordance with the relevant British Standards.
� To undertake urgent tasks as they arise and assist other staff within the team
� To advise and refer any problems to the supervisor or manager, on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
� Maintain appropriate procedures for all aspects of Health and Safety regulations in line with Company procedures
� Contribute to the continuous improvement and effectiveness within your team.
� Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by your line Manager or Supervisor.

Qualifications
Essential:
� City and Guilds 2360/2330 PART 1&2 NVQ level 2 or equivalent
� 17th Edition Qualified
� City and Guilds - Inspection & Testing 2391 or equivalent
Desirable:
� Portable Appliance testing PAT 160

Experience
Essential:
� Previous Electrical experience minimum 3 years
� Ability to use a wide range of tools
Desirable:
� Having high attention to details.

Knowledge And Skills
Essential:
� Full driving licence
� Excellent communication skills
� Able to work alone and within a team
� Being able to follow technical instructions

Desirable
� Keeping up to date technically and applying new knowledge to your role

The majority of works will be situated within the M25 area. All PPE, vehicle, uniform, ID Card, PDA and Parking Permits will be supplied by the Client.
You will be paid on a job-by-job basis with some individuals earning way in excess of the stated salary.
