My client, who is a major telecoms provider to the military, is now seeking a Installation Design Engineer (EW) for their operations in Saudi Arabia, you will be reporting to the IDE Team Leader

Therefore your primary objectives and functions will include:-
• Create a design according to the Statement of Requirement (SoR).
• Preparation of various documents, for example the Scope of Works (SoW) for the Sub-Contractor.
• Liaise with other GPT employees, UK MoD and Sub-Contractors during the installation.
• Liaise with internal clients to gain approval of the developed designs and documents
• Ensure the test results are acceptable and presented in the approved format.
• Provide any support for all relevant parties as and when required.
• Ensure the ‘As Fitted’ design documentation is approved and in the correct format for the Technical Transfer to the department.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review design proposal requirements and visit site as appropriate then create the design, gain all necessary approvals from the UK MoD and the SANG before submitting the design.
• Prepare the Scope of Works (SoW) document containing all equipment/product and design specifications for the Sub-Contractor.
• Prepare the System Test Plan document in line with customer requirements.
• Ensure that EW mobile and fixed installation design received from vendor is correct and presented in the company standard format
• Liaise with other employees/Sub-Contractors during the installation phase and ensure any changes to the design are correctly approved and recorded.
• Ensure the OSP/ISP/Co-axial or electrical/earth cable test results are acceptable and presented in the approved format.
• Prepare design documentation (Floor/building plans, radio/microwave tower, OSP/ISP installation) for approval by Engineering and the UK MoD and SANG.
• Assess the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) – including rooms, buildings and equipment to be re-used for suitability and advise where necessary any Civils work required.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS (Internal/External/Meetings):
• Provide project progress where applicable to peers and management level as requested.
• Attends meetings and liaise with company, UK MoD, SANG and the Sub-Contractor.

JUDGEMENT/DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY (Specific Responsibilities):
• Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure relevant documentation is created within the timeline to ensure Milestones are met.
• Make on site decisions regarding design changes and advise accordingly with consideration to the health and safety aspects due to the design change.
• Keep record/diary of project progress and update the line manager upon request.
• Ensure all relevant H&S and design standards are met at all times.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION (Knowledge & Experience):
ESSENTIAL:
• Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent in a relevant Engineering (Electronic, Telecommunications or computer) discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in one or more of the disciplines and conversant with a wide range of technology including Electronic Warfare, C4I, radio/microwave and cable (OSP/ISP) systems, IP networks and radio tower construction from an installation perspective.
• Experience in Installation, Integration and Delivery of Electronic Warfare and C4I systems.
• Experience of managing/coordinating installation design or turnkey projects.
• Must be fully conversant with AutoCAD and production of engineering drawings and standards.
• PC literate.

DESIRABLE:
• Experience in delivery of military communications and electronic services.
• Experience of living or working in the Middle East.
• Ability to use MS Visio.

As this role is based in Saudi Arabia, candidates must meet all of the minimum qualifications as they are not bound by UK or EU Laws, also individuals over the age of 50 will also not be considered for any of these roles.
