Service Engineer (170jc) vacancy in North London ()

My client, who is a leader in the supply of navigation and surveillance systems to both the military and civilian sectors for a number of years are currently seeking a Service Engineer to join their expanding team.

You will be reporting to the Operation Manager and your role will consist of the following:-
• Carry out service interventions as directed by my client’s Customer Services.
• Communicate effectively with line management any information relating to service issues.
• Ensure that conduct and presentation are maintained to the required standard at all times.
• Whilst on board vessels be vigilant in observing any additional necessary work on companies supplied equipment.
• Familiarise and observe all Health and Safety rules and regulations during working hours.
• Carry out administration tasks relevant to the running of the local depot.
• Act in a professional manner in the presence of customers and maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive product information.
• On a weekly basis communicate all Service reports, expense and overtime documents to head office.
• Fill out Service reports and other documentation to the standard required by line management.
• Carry out any special projects or tasks as agreed with line management.
• On occasions be prepared to work in excess of the normal 37 hour week or anti social hours whilst observing contractual obligations.
• Working relationships with Service Engineers, Customer/Agent, Engineering, Sales/Marketing, Spares Service Administration.
• Travel within the UK and overseas is required, and is considered a regular feature of this role. Requests could be made at short notice.
• Any other tasks associated with this role.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills, qualifications and background:-
• Minimum of OND qualified preferably HND in an Electronics field
• Experience in an Electronics servicing environment, preferably Marine orientated
• Proven track record in demonstrating knowledge of electronics in a ‘hands on’ discipline
• Excellent communication skills both technically and socially with the ability to interact at all levels within the organisation.
• Sound knowledge of computers including hardware and software with the ability to use various software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Full clean driving licence
• Valid passport
• Be physical fit and able to work at height in excess of 40 meters, as well as able to work in confined spaces
In addition, you will need the ability to gain UK SC Clearance and as such you will need to be a UK citizen under the MoD regulation to National Security Clearance.
