My client is one of the world leading manufacturers of equipment for Comms, Radio, EW and ECM RF testing are now seeking a suitably qualified engineer to provide production engineering support for existing and new products. Supporting assembly and test staff within the Tubes Division to ensure that products are built to the required standards in the most efficient and effective manner.

Main Duties:
1. Provide Shop Floor Support resolve problems with processes and product designs.
2. Provide written specifications, procedures and instructions to assist operational staff to assemble, process and test products effectively and efficiently.
3. Recommend and design tooling and jigs where appropriate (either CAD or sketches).
4. Create/amend and Routings using company Swan MRP system.
5. Raise/action Change Notes as required.
6. Investigate and implement product design improvements to reduce cost, ease assembly and improve quality and reliability.
7. Investigate and implement new processes and carry out improvements to existing processes in order to reduce costs and improve process capability.
8. Advise and assist with design of New Products to ensure suitability for manufacture.
9. Comply with the company health and safety policy.
10. Undertake any other tasks that may be reasonably requested.

Preferred Experience
Precision mechanical engineering background in manufacturing (including clean room experience).
Knowledge or experience of metal and ceramic to metal joining processes.
Knowledge or experience of furnace brazing, TIG and laser welding.
Experience of Microwave/Travelling Wave Tube manufacture.
Practical experience of process improvement techniques including D.O.E.
FMEA/RCA experience
Trained in Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma techniques.
Swan MRP system experience Routings
Qualifications
Prefer minimum of HNC in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
Or Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship (City & Guilds).
Or sound experience in a precision mechanical engineering and assembly environment.
Essentials
HNC or equivalent in any engineering mechanical assembly in a clean room environment.
Desirables
Qualifications in Lean manufacturing. Six Sigma. Design for manufacturing/Assembly/Test.
Knowledge of radar equipment including TWTs, waveguide and RF devices. MRP systems especially SWAN, BOMs and routings.
FMEA/RCA Knowledge. Technical writing.
