Main Duties:
Lead the design and development of new power supply and RF amplifier products
Designing power converter architectures and topologies to provide robust solutions to meet exacting customer specifications
Define and cost solutions to customer requests and support the bid preparation process
Design and development of analogue and digital circuits to control, monitor and interface to various power converters that form the basis of our high power RF amplifiers.
To investigate, resolve and prevent product defects.
Maintain up to date knowledge of new techniques and technologies
Using models and simulation tools to provide an in-depth analysis of circuit operation and present this at design reviews
Produce technical proposals and compliance matrices to support new business proposals
Leading, guiding and mentoring less experienced Engineers
Act as technical authority, authorising changes to products as required
Maintain an Engineers Daybook to allow visibility of activities in the event of absence.
Ensuring compliance with Company processes and procedures
Planning activities in conjunction with the programme manager to meet customer and company needs
To undertake any other task, which may reasonably be requested.
To comply with the Company Policy on Health & Safety
Qualifications
BSc or Meng
Essentials
Excellent communication skills, mentoring skills and must be a great team player
Desirables
Knowledge of high voltage design.
Familiar with power supply topology's including resonant converters
Because of the nature of the work undertaken at my clients' site, this post is required to meet special nationality rules and therefore are only open to British Citizens. All selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance. The MoD rules state that in order to have access to this level of information, candidates "must be British as defined in the British Nationality Act 1981"
