My client is one of the world leading manufacturers of equipment for Comms, Radio, EW and ECM RF testing are now seeking a suitably qualified engineer to join their team.
The Company manufacture highly complex, high power RF amplifiers, incorporating high voltage switch-mode power supplies for major international and military customers worldwide. The Component / Reliability Engineer will be required to provide technical support to the product development teams to ensure our products continue to meet the reliability, safety and integrity requirements defined.
To support the Company rapid growth and expansion the Component / Reliability Engineer will also be required to assist in the identification, management and control of reliable components and the production of drawings to ensure this control is maintained.

Main Duties:
Investigate component failures and work with suppliers to ensure effective corrective action
Research component technologies and provide support to design engineers
Produce drawings to define the approved component sources and any test requirements
Work with design engineers to develop an approved component database
Assist in the maintenance and development of the new component review and approval process
Establish component failure rates and support design engineers with MTBF calculations
Produce FMECA and fault tree reports
To maintain an Engineers daybook to allow visibility of activities
To achieve scheduled activity against forecast/plans.
Ensure adherence to product specification and customer requirements.
Attend programme and design review meetings as required.
To work with customers and suppliers to resolve issues.
To ensure compliance with Company manufacturing and quality procedures.
To undertake any other task, which may reasonably be requested

Qualifications
HND or BSc in Electronic engineering or similar
Essentials
Knowledge of military or aerospace component management processes
Reliability calculations and FMECA etc
Must have excellent communication skills and be a good team player
Desirables
Knowledge of military or aerospace electronic component technology, sourcing, testing, obsolescence management etc.
Knowledge of component failure analysis and investigation techniques.
Familiarity with high voltage and power electronic components such as capacitors, inductors FETs diodes etc.

Because of the nature of the work undertaken at my clients' site, this post is required to meet special nationality rules and therefore are only open to British Citizens. All selected candidates will be required to undergo security clearance. The MoD rules state that in order to have access to this level of information, candidates "must be British as defined in the British Nationality Act 1981"
