Configuration Engineer (182jc) vacancy in Riyadh ()

My client, who is a major telecoms provider, is now seeking a Configuration Engineer for their operations in Saudi Arabia, you will be reporting to the Configuration Engineer Team Leader.

Primary Objectives and functions:

• Fully accountable for effective maintenance of up-to-date records of Saudi Arabian National Guard (SANG) network status
• Responsible for co-ordinating and managing all network changes.
• Ensuring appropriate internal and commercial processes are adhered to at all times.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Deliver:
• Support to the Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority (SCIDA)/Configuration Manager in all tasks as required to meet the Company’s contractual obligations.
• Support as required for project, proposal and managed service activities
2) Fully accountable for maintaining up-to-date recorded configuration status of the network connectivity schematics, network usage/availability.
3) Ensure that all processes relating to Change Management (CM) are adhered to and instigate changes using the ITIL process to ensure that standards are constantly improved upon.
4) Liaise with other staff to ensure that any changes, upgrades or new installations to the network are correctly reported to ensure that all CM is updated correctly.
5) Work very closely with Regional Control Center Management (RCCM) and Operations & Maintenance (OM) to ensure seamless transition of SANG Network operational state via the Network Control Board (NCB)/ Configuration Control Board (CCB) process.

Judgement/Decision Making Authority (Specific Responsibilities):
• Is responsible to the SCIDA/ Configuration Engineer Team Leader for the capture of specified implementation design details and for collating these into configured documentation.
• Responsible for the maintenance of appropriate network documentation.
• Responsible for the planning and management of network changes.

Recruitment Specification (Knowledge & Experience):
Essential:
• Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent in Configuration Control/Configuration Management.
• Proven track record in similar role with tight configuration control responsibilities
• Experience in the Telecommunications Industry working in Configuration Control.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
• PC literate/ ability to use MS Office Tools.

Desirable:
• Experience in delivery of communications services.
• Experience of working for an organisation with links to the Military.
• Experience of living or working in the Middle East.

As this role is based in Saudi Arabia, candidates must meet all of the minimum qualifications as they are not bound by UK or EU Laws, also individuals over the age of 50 will also not be considered for any of these roles.
