My client a fast growing SME in the radio communications sector based in Warrington are now seeking Call Out Engineer to join their expanding team.

You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager and you will be responsible for fault management to resolution of radio service incidents, to provide systems and application support to resort service, and providing in depth root cause analysis and solutions in relation to radio systems faults.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide fault fix support on radio terminals, base station equipment, control room positions and Ground to Air systems for incidents, remotely or on site where required.
• Responsible for support activities including customer contact and incident handling
• Provide cover within the UK, mainly from the Midlands to Scotland and Northern Ireland to meet the company’s 4 hour Service Level; Agreement. Overseas travel may be required to meet the company’s 24 hour Service Agreement for overseas customers.
• On 24/7 pager call, 2 weeks of each month
• Investigate, analyse and support incident resolution on radio systems contracts
• Examine and identify root cause analysis and give direction on fault/problem to reduce repeat call outs (written)
• Produce reports, survey reports, and risk & method assessments in accordance with the company’s H&S guidelines
• Interface with 1st line field teams and support services to provide timelines for restoration/delivery and availability of radio services.
• Provide technical reco0mmendations that assist with service restoration and give consideration to the availability of suitable resources
• Assist with technical support of radio services contacts via a working knowledge of TETRA, PMR and Digital technologies on fixed and mobile equipment.
• Undertake and complete regular manual and automated radio systems service checks.
• Escalate customer Incidents in line with internal procedure in order to assist with service resolution within SLA’s where required
• Document and update radio services incident and investigations
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced team members as appropriate
• Contribute to the Knowledge Base and Known Error Database
• Participate in Major Incident Reviews where radio services technical support was required to support system restoration

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
• Good standard of education
• Good literacy and numeric skills

Essential Experience:
• Two-way radio communications industry as Test Engineer, Repair Engineer, Radio Communications
• Repairing and fault-finding radio communications equipment
• Field Service on equipment installation
• In depth knowledge of aerial systems both Cavity and Hybrid radio site engineering
• Experience of interference resolution (intermods etc)
• Preparing products for customers, including surveys, Risk and Method Statements in accordance with H&S guidelines
• Technical understanding of: VHF, UHF, PMR, PMR446, Tetra, Ground to Air, Private Mobile Radio, Digital Radio, Tw0-way Radio, Trunked, Radio Handsets, Hire, Land Mobile, Cellular, Tracking, base Stations, Masts, Antennas, RF principles.
• Use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

The ideal individual for this role will be a radio systems operator or technician who has good all round skills, and can turn his hand from operational requirements to first line repairs in the field.

In additional to the base salary level, they will be offering a vehicle as well as a call out allowance. And in addition progression within this expanding and developing company is also possible for the individual
