Senior Support Engineer (200jc) vacancy in Plymouth ()

My client an International Defence Prime is currently seeking a Senior Support Engineer within the Marine & Technology division, based at Devonport, Plymouth and specifically in the Submarine Business Unit.

Therefore your role will ultimately provide the technical interface between multiple areas of the business including design, technical, procurement, supply etc. You will be responsible for ensuring that the various test rigs within the Submarine Division are fit for purpose, on schedule, and moreover meet the demands of the various test programmes by liaising with key stakeholders.

This role carries some line management responsibilities in achieving these purposes, but the role is best described as being the interface to ensure the test rigs are appropriate for the intended programmes, resolving issues through liaison as required, usually through planned maintenance cycles.

Due to the technical nuclear aspect of the role, the individual will need to be of HNC Mechanical Engineering calibre, with detailed experience of NSRP.

Package/Benefits

Further Information

This is a new role based in Plymouth, but the individual will be involved in a wide range of projects largely within the Submarine Business Unit. There may be a demand to assist Surface Vessels in the future as part of the management and maintenance of the SGDS (Steam Generating Delivery System).

This Business Unit is expanding and the role therefore carries with it a high degree of stability for the right individual. The amount of responsibility the individual will have will present challenges, and the accompanying level of interfacing and technical input means that this role is a superb opportunity for the successful candidate.

Security

The successful candidate will be required to satisfy strict MOD security requirements, and a medical is usually part of the standard recruitment process.

Therefore the ideal individual for this role would be ex RN who has submarine experience who comes from an engineering background, ideally as an Artificer SNCO rank.
