My client, one of the country’s leading renewable energy developers, is looking for a practical, down-to-earth individual to be based at his head office in central Cornwall. This individual will be responsible for multiple projects across the country, co-ordinating sub-contract design and installation partners and internal resources, and engaging in a range of engineering and consultancy activities associated with the delivery of effective biomass boiler solutions.
You will be working with customers, technical staff and sub-contractors to meet the project deadlines and customer requirements. A flexible attitude is essential as you may be asked to undertake other duties of a general engineering or construction nature to assist in meeting organisational objectives. You will also assist with the management of the head office.
You will:
• Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to exceeding standards and have a positive approach to overcoming obstacles.
• Understand the Business and its commercial environment and take account of commercial risk when making decisions.
• Possess an ability to solve complex problems, gathering information and working logically to develop clear solutions, seeing such problems as opportunities for improvement.
• Be able to work from first principles on technical problems.
• Build constructive working relationships and seek ways to resolve conflict and manage difficult situations effectively.
Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience within the construction industry and familiarity with its standards, practices and procedures;
• Ability to make decisions;
• Coordination of site activities, ensuring the safety of all involved;
• A strong understanding of commercial terms and conditions and the impact they will have on project delivery;
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines;
• Good communication skills - verbal and written;
• Provision of the required level of contract management including liaison with clerical support and senior management in order to maximise income and profit.
Desirable Skills and Experience
• IOSH;
• CSCS card;
• Knowledge of Sales and Project Management techniques;
• Good keyboard skills and working knowledge of PC packages;
• Commercial awareness including contract law and management of risk.
