Maritime Trainer / Instructor (STCW-95)

Salary: Daily rate to be agreed

Location: Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK

Type: Permanent, Part-time

Due to the demand of the STCW-95 courses, the company is currently seeking applications for experienced, reliable and enthusiastic STCW-95 instructors. The training centre is a Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and Seafish Industry Authority (SFIA) approved training provider. The company is looking to expand its successful training department.

To be considered for this role you will need to have maritime experience, STCW-95 qualifications as well as training qualifications. It would be an advantage but not essential to hold a teaching qualification / assessor award (D32/D33/A1). Training will be provided to those who currently do not hold a teaching qualification.

Main duties/responsibilities include:

Teaching STCW-95 modules and any other maritime safety courses as and when required.

The STCW-95 modules include;

Personal Survival Techniques (A-V1/1-1)

Elementary First Aid (A-V1/1-3)

Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities (A-V1/1-4)

Excellent customer facing, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to share expertise and experience with others. The successful candidate will be teaching both theoretical and practical elements of the courses.
Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and cope with stressful situations.
Ability to work independently and within timescales dictated by the training schedules.
