We are currently working with another consultancy who’s client is working in the Nuclear industry and are looking for a Site Manager and/or Construction Manager for their Operations.

This is a new role within this company, and eventually you may be responsible for the construction of a new team within the group.

Therefore you will be reporting to the Head of Projects and Engineering Group and the main purpose of your role will include:-
• To assist the Project Manager in delivering projects at site within cost, time and performance constraints.
• To be responsible for all site activities including management of direct employees and subcontractors.
• Particular emphasis on delivery of exemplary safe working environment and right first time quality.

Position in organisation and key relationships

• Reporting directly to the Project Manager the Site / Construction Manager has working relationships with all levels of people within the project organisation.
• The Site / Construction Manager is the Company’s ambassador at site and as such must ensure the Company’s reputation is upheld on all matters.
• The Site / Construction Manager will have delegated authorities from the Project Manager on communications and decision-making with the client as well as staff and subcontractors on site.

Scope of job
Site / Construction Manager responsible to the Project Manager in assisting with the delivery of the project including:-
Safety:
• Ensuring site project work is carried out according to safety policy and procedures
• Delivery of environmental controls, hazard reduction, risk assessment and work control process (Method Statements), safe lifting management and CDM Regs control.
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring that all site activities meet the requirements of the CDM Regulations and Statutory requirements. (Building Regulations, EMC Regulations, CE Marking, PUWER, LOLER, Risk Management)
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring that all project activities meets with the specified Customer safety requirements.
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring radiological safety of the project.

Quality
• Ensuring site project works including internal and contractor works meet design specifications and are carried out according to quality management procedures.
• Assisting the Project Manager including specific responsibility for site and ensuring that all project activities are carried out in accordance with company QA requirements, particularly procedure CP0501, Project Management. Due regard shall also be taken of any Project Specific Guidance Notes.
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring that all project activities meet with the Customer quality requirements.

Programme:
• Site activity monitoring and control
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring that the project is delivered to the timescale agreed with the Customer.
• Assisting the Project Manager in the monitoring of progress of deliverables undertaken at site by the client or sub contracted resource(s).

Costs:
• Site cost monitoring and control
• Assisting the Project Manager in ensuring that the project is carried out within the agreed budgets and delegated responsibility for site budgets.
• Assisting with the monitoring of expenditure of sub contracted resource(s) at site and progressing delivery, in accordance with control budgets.

Notification of Changes/Variations:
• Identification and notification of technical and commercial risks associated with site works
• Notifying the Customer through the Project Manager at the earliest opportunity of any changes that may affect the delivery of the project with respect to Safety, Quality, Programme or Cost in accordance with Change Control procedure CP0507.

Resources:
• Liaising and coordinating across all site disciplines / subcontractors
• Informing the Project Manager of forward resource requirements for site activities.
• Assisting the Project Manager to ensure that only SQEP (Suitably Qualified Experienced Persons) are employed on the project.

Reporting:
• Production of technical. Management and project progress reports
• Reporting site activities Monthly Project Reports.

Security Arrangements:
• Ensuring site meets client security requirements
• Assisting the Project Manager with the implementation of the security arrangements in place on the project.

Supervision:
• Ensuring adequate supervision to all Site Works to meet Quality, Safety, Technical and Programme requirements.
• Liaison of Inspection requirements with Compliance and Client organisations in a timely manner to meet Programme.
Co-ordination:
• Manages and delivers coordination between Clien, and Subcontractor resources to meet time and cost requirements on site.
Site Mobilisation:
• Producing and delivering site mobilisation / demobilisation plans.
• Preparing site mobilisation/de-mobilisation plans and delivering plans to time/cost/budget.

Qualifications
• HNC or Degree qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent ability in a technical discipline. A recognised project/site management qualification would be advantageous.
• IOSH Certification.
• CSCS Card holder.

Experience
• At least 5 years in a similar role with.
