PROJECT Cipher/Security Administrator (014jc) vacancy in Qatar ()

This company is bidding on a contract in Qatar, which is a very long term contract which is NOT a Rotational role but permanently based in country and is seeking PROJECT Cipher and a Project Security Administrator

The contract award date if very soon, and would be looking for individual to commit in joining the contract early February 2014, with three rounds of interviews, and the final interview being held in Doha.

Job Description

Mission

This role is primarily responsible for administering the PROJECT Cipher systems and has a secondary responsibility of Administering the PROJECT Security System(s).

PROJECT Cipher Administrator Mission
• A PROJECT Cipher Administrator is a specialist in data encryption technologies and is responsible for supporting the handling of PROJECT encrypted information
• A PROJECT Cipher Administrator Administers PROJECT encryption systems, including installing, upgrading, configuring and ensuring the Operational effectiveness of those systems.
PROJECT Security Administrator Mission
• A PROJECT Security Administrator is a systems security specialist responsible for the Security Chain of the PROJECT System infrastructure. This work is carried out in accordance with PROJECT Con Ops, standards and project requirement, thus maintaining System
Configuration and Operational capability
• A PROJECT Security Administrator is, like all Level 3 Support Staff, responsible for resolving PROJECT System issues which cannot be resolved at Level 2
• PROJECT Security administrator performs the duties of the PROJECT Cipher Administrator (Level 2) in the absence of that Level 2 Administrator.
• Other responsibilities include being part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Main Tasks and Duty of Jobholder

The activities led by a PROJECT Cipher administrator after a suitable training managed by CUSTOMER, are:
Performs on-site preventive and corrective maintenance of encryption equipment’s in order to maintain optimal availability of PROJECT Systems and in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements and safety and security procedures.

• Managing keys and configuring Ciphers, Encrypted Telephony and AIS.
• Inserting Cipher preventive updates, patches, and configuration changes.
• Preparing and configuring encryption equipment before installation/exchange
• Ensuring that the encryption equipment is operational and secure
• Maintain Encrypted devices and IT network security control systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, wireless networks, virtual private networks, and network account access
• Performing routine audits of encrypted systems.
• Identifying, resolving and reporting service incidents, issues, questions and problems within the whole system infrastructure
• Recording the configuration of the encryption system for documentation
• Troubleshooting any reported encryption problem
• Tuning encryption system performance
• Replacing faulty encryption equipment
• Answering technical queries
• Providing on-the-job Cipher Administrator training

The activities led by PROJECT Security Administrator after suitable training managed by
CUSTOMER, are:

• Coordinates the security maintenance activities of duty technical teams in order to provide an operational availability of PROJECT Systems
• Administers the maintenance of PROJECT servers and client, including security installs, upgrading security control systems such as firewalls ,intrusion detection systems, wireless networks, virtual private networks, and network account access
• Managing day to day tasks (Both Windows and Linux system and network infrastructure for security monitoring and maintenance)
• Ensuring that the local IT network and system infrastructure is operational and secured
• Ensuring that the Security Chain is up and operational
• Develop, administer and maintain system-wide information technology network security control systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, wireless networks, virtual private networks, and network account access
• Performing routine audits of software and systems. Analysing System logs and traces to establish root cause
• Identifying and resolving service incidents, issues, questions and problems within the whole system and software infrastructure
• Administering security and preventive updates, patches, and configuration changes
• Investigate new security technologies in Networking, Voice/Video
• Documenting and recording the configuration of the security system
• Troubleshooting reported PROJECT security problem
• Tuning Security system performance
• Replacing faulty firewall and switching equipment
• Answering PROJECT System security technical queries
• Providing on-the-job Security Administrator training.

Pre-requisites

Education:
• Advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
• Qualified technician IT Security system administration (computers, network and databases) Certification:

For both Cipher and Security Administrator roles
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) or demonstrable experience
• Cisco qualifications in Security (CCSP) or demonstrable experience
• Cisco qualifications in Call manager (CVOICE) or demonstrable experience
• Cisco qualifications in Routing & Switching (CCNP) or demonstrable experience.

Technical Experience/expertise: For Cipher Administrator
• 2+ year Cisco networking & communications experience
• Experienced in configuring Security Appliance hardware and software architecture such as Cisco, Netscreen, checkpoint & Firewall
• Able to select the best IDS sensor platform to protect a given network.
• Experience in system administration (SW installation, system supervision and fault localization, user profile management, database management, backup/restore operations)
• Experience in secure routers, switches by using the Security Audit feature available on network hardware
• Working knowledge of encryption devices and software
• Working knowledge of Voice & VOIP and of Routers and Switches technologies
• General information on the administration of an network architecture
• Good knowledge of Web Server IIS, Apache, Firewall and of an IP network environment (LAN, WAN), TCP/IP, addressing, layout, routing
• Knowledge of the commands and management tools network (ping, trace route, Wireshark, telnet)
• Knowledge of encryption principles, of IPSec protocol (Encryption, Authentication) and of cryptographic protocols (Algorithm, Digest, Hash)
• Log and system analysis experiences
• Understanding of Information and document security principles
• Troubleshooting skills of real time production environment along with deployment and support of newer systems
• Ensuring third party maintenance repair is of the correct standard
• Perform daily system monitoring and gather data for trend reporting For Security Administrator
• Ability to secure administrative access to network hardware by configuring multiple privilege levels
• Experienced in configuring security policies for access-list, traffic encryption to protect the intranet from attacks & hackers
• Experienced in configuring and verifying IP ACLs to mitigate threats (filter IP traffic destined for Telnet, SNMP, and DDoS attacks) in a network using Command line
• Ability to mitigate layer 2 & Layer 3 attack
• Able to Plan the mitigation of specific network vulnerabilities and exploits
• Able to select the best IDS sensor platform to protect a given network
• Ability to configure & troubleshoot VPN connections (IPsec site-to-site VPN with pre-shared key authentication, Easy VPN Server & Client VPN)
• Experience in system administration (SW installation, system supervision and fault localization, user profile management, database management, backup/restore operations)
• Experience in secure routers, switches by using the Security Audit feature available on network hardware
• Working knowledge of encryption devices and software
• Working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM / Cisco Call Manager/ CCM)
• Working knowledge of Communications Protocols, H.323, SIP, Codecs, Calling Search Space, Voice Gateways
• General information on the administration of an network architecture

As stated this role is a permanent role in Qatar and not in rotation (30 days holydays per year).

Depending on the level of responsibilities, the salary will be between 4500 and 6000 euros. This salary does not include the house or apartment, the car, the laptop, the trip to Europe (twice a year), insurance (life and medical) and other expenses.
