The contract award date if very soon, and would be looking for individual to commit in joining the contract early February 2014, with three rounds of interviews, and the final interview being held in Doha.
Job Description
Mission
This role is primarily responsible for Administering the PROJECT IT Infrastructure and has secondary responsibilities of administering the PROJECT IT Applications, in the absence of that Administrator.
PROJECT Infra IT Administrator (Level2) Mission
• A PROJECT Infra IT Administrator (Level2) is responsible for Administering both Windows and Linux Engineering Computer Infrastructure.
• A PROJECT Infra IT Administrator (Level2) maintains servers and clients, including installation, configuration, upgrading, and rebuilding, inaccordance with standards and project and operational requirements.
PROJECT Application Administrator (Level2) Mission
• A PROJECT Application Administrator (Level2) is responsible for supporting PROJECT Computer System Applications.
• A PROJECT Application Administrator (Level2) maintains PROJECT applications, including installing, upgrading, configuring and ensuring the Operational effectiveness of PROJECT applications.
• Other responsibilities include being part of 24x7 on-call rotation.
Main Tasks and Duty of Jobholder
The activities led by PROJECT Infra IT administrators (Level 2) after suitable training managed by CUSTOMER are:
• Managing day to day tasks (Both Windows and Linux infrastructure monitoring and maintenance, checking log file, backup batches)
• Maintain, restore, reinstall, update IT Infrastructure
• Instigate and check the integrity of system backups
• Identify and analyse System logs audit results, identifying, resolving or reporting to the department responsible, issues with computer system
• Recording the configuration of the system
• Ensuring that the local IT network and infrastructure is operational
• Ensuring Level 1 Technician replace faulty IT equipment, to the correct standard
• Ensuring third party maintenance repair is of the correct standard
• Answering technical PROJECT IT queries
• Providing on-the-job training
The activities led by PROJECT Application administrators (Level2) after suitable training managed by CUSTOMER, are;
• Monitoring the Operational performance and service of the bespoke and COTS applications, auditing, analysing performance, identifying issues, resolving issues and reporting issues to Level 3 Administrators
• Performing routine audits of software, examining software version, status, usage
• Recording and documenting the configuration and Operational effectiveness of the application
• Answering PROJECT technical application queries.
Pre-requisites
Education:
• Advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through high school diploma or equivalent.
• Qualified technician IT system administration (computers, network and databases).
Certification:
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)
Technical Experience/expertise:
• 4+ years experience with IT systems technology, enterprise class environments, high-availability, hardware/software installation and Microsoft Server 2003, 2008 configurations and administration, as well as UNIX/LINUX (RedHat) environments.
• Strong Windows/Linux trouble shooting skills, he/she needs to have experience with different Windows and UNIX/LINUX utilities.
• Requires extensive knowledge with Web Server IIS, Apache
• Requires understanding of fibre channel switches, SAN and NAS technologies.
• Requires experience with HP/Oracle/Cisco Enterprise level hardware infrastructure
• Proficient scripting skills in PowerShell, Perl, Python, vbscript, PHP, or shell
• Extensive experience of trouble shooting and fault finding skills in real-time operational environments
• Experience of Administration support in systems lifecycle, including deployment, commissioning, migration and upgrade
• Experience of managing daily system monitoring and gathering data/metrics for performance and data reporting trending.
• An appreciation of Applications Administration.

Clearance:
• To be able to get Qatari resident visa
• To be able to get EU country defence clearance (e.g; EU Confidential)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

As stated this role is a permanent role in Qatar and not in rotation (30 days holydays per year).
Depending on the level of responsibilities, the salary will be between 4500 and 6000 euros. This salary does not include the house or apartment, the car, the laptop, the trip to Europe (twice a year), insurance (life and medical) and other expenses.
