My client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment for Comms, Radio, EW and ECM RF testing are now seeking a Manual Machinist (Turner/Miller) to join their team.

Scope:
Set up and operation of manually controlled machines.
Delivering precision high quality components and tooling, supporting all elements of production and development machining tasks, under minimal supervision. The position requires the ability to read and understand engineering drawings Metric and Imperial, working to tight tolerances and self-inspection

Main Duties
• Manufacture components from engineering drawings.
• Manufacture tools jigs and fixtures to aid production to meet tight manufacturing and inspection criteria.
• Flexible and capable in use of all manual machining equipment in the Company’s machining workshop.
• Expert in using measuring and inspection equipment to ensure product quality levels are maintained.
• Capable of maintaining very tight tolerances.
• Assist in ensuring the workshop equipment and environment is tidy and safe.
• Recommend improvement and development in equipment, tooling and products
• To undertake any other reasonable tasks.
• Comply with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures

• Self-inspection

Qualifications:
• BTech Engineering
Essentials:
• Passion for engineering.
• Ability to use own initiative and can work successfully as a team
Desirables:
• GCSE Maths, English, IT.
• Knowledge of making jigs/fixtures.
• Assist with training apprentices, leadership qualities and an understanding of CNC production.
