Tasks & Responsibilities
The strategy is to grow the business substantially, both in terms of revenue and profit. This requires an effective market communications function, in order to strengthen the brand even further, ensuring recognition in their chosen markets, by their clients, partners and suppliers.

This will involve the following tasks and responsibilities:
Branding:
• Support the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to implement, maintain and improve the brand. This means ensuring consistent messages and branding guidelines are implemented in printed and online material (brochures, web site, etc.).

Public Relations:
• Support the CMO in creating and implementing a corporate PR plan as well as PR plans for the market segments. Ensure publications are created and distributed as agreed with the CMO. Make sure articles and press releases are written and published according to the schedule of the corporate PR plan. This involves setting up ‘interviews’ with the CMO, business managers, etc., and the PR agency so that a story can quickly be drafted and then reviewed internally, before it gets published.

Events:
• Maintain the events data base and support the CMO to ensure this data base is reviewed and actioned by getting business managers and other individuals to attend external events.

Managing the PR agency.
• Working with the CMO to prepare for regular conference calls, setting up ad hoc calls between the agency and Company staff (typically business managers), getting updates from the agency on performance (number of articles published, etc.), and making sure Business Managers are executing their actions (draft content) to feed into the PR agency.

Online:
• Supporting the CMO by maintaining and improving the web site. This means working with the internal stakeholders and the web design company (external) to design and maintain the web site. Keeping statistics of web site. Making sure that third party web site correctly display the Company’s information and references. Making sure the email signature is updated regularly across the business.

Print:
• Other than the Newsletter the business managers will generate printed material. The MCE needs to assist the CMO and business managers in drafting and printing flyers, brochures, and other printed material. The MCE will also support the CMO in maintaining and improving the company presentation, and other related presentations.

Building:
• Supporting the CMO in improving and maintaining the display room, reception and conference/meeting rooms.

Prospecting:
• Business managers and others have a large proportion of leads they need to follow up. A new CRM system is being put in place to log all these opportunities. From time to time the MCE may be asked to assist in making sure the CRM system is used correctly (ensure contact data is entered correctly) and by making follow-up contact, setting up meetings and discussing initial requirements.

Other:
• From time to time the CMO will develop marketing initiatives (for example training sessions, social media, etc.) for which the MCE needs to provide support. Furthermore there are a number of support tasks which are required to be executed, such as booking the odd travel trip for sales/marketing staff.

Please note that this is not a Business Development role.
