Our Client is seeking an experience Electronics Engineer to join their team as Repair Engineer. The Company design and manufacture high power electronic and microwave systems to operate reliably in the harshest environments.

Responsible to the Repair Production Manager the successful candidate will carry out specific duties relating to the testing, fault finding and repair of High Voltage Power Supplies and RF Testing of Travelling Tube Amplifiers down to component level and reporting finding and settling remedial action.

Main Duties
• Test High Voltage Switch Mode Power supplies having output voltages of up to 50kV.
• Fault Find High Voltage Power Supplies down to component level
• Test to both commercial and military specifications as required.
• Carry out of RF testing on S, C, X, Ku and millimetric band TWTs.
• Carry out tests on TWTAs of using Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analysers, RF Power Meters, RF Signal Generators, Pulse Generators etc.
• Carry out Environmental Stress Screening tests, including vibration, altitude and operational temperature cycling.
• Assist in training junior level technicians.
• Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with documented processes, specifications and quality requirements.
• Repair analysis, record keeping, documenting problems, report writing, instigating corrective actions.
• Ensure that all activities undertaken conform to Health and safety requirements.
• Ensure that working areas, plant, tools and test equipment are kept tidy, safe, maintained and calibrated.
• Ensure tasks are completed on time to meet agreed turnaround time and costs on repairs. (Evaluations completed within two weeks, repair process completed within 4 weeks for order receipt or to longest lead time part plus 4 weeks).

Essential Experience
• Capable and trained to solder standard IPC-J-STD-001
• Familiar with power supply circuitry and RF schematics
• Good working knowledge of electrical components
• Proven capability of diagnostics and fault finding of electrical circuits
• Experienced in report writing
• Proficient use of Microsoft office with good capability of excel and outlook

Competencies
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Results Orientated
• Excellent time management
• Numerate and literate

Qualifications:
• HNC/HND or BSc
Essentials:
• Knowledge of Military or Aerospace test processes.
• Knowledge of electronics testing.
• Knowledge of RF, switch mode topologies for troubleshooting and repairs
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in electronic circuit troubleshooting.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to compile failure report accurately and technically sound
• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and RF schematics
• Proficient in use of MS Office – in particular Excel and Outlook

Desirables:
• Familiarity with analogue circuits especially switch-mode PSUs, as well as high power RF test and methods
• Experience of high voltage power supply
• Knowledge of ATE test systems
• Knowledge of high voltage test methods
