My client is looking for a Product Support Engineer to carry out product training and demonstrations, in both the UK and overseas. Maintain demo units. Coordinate provision of product documentation. Carry out product inspections, fault finding and repairs. Assist with practical product development.

Relationships and Personal Activities
Directly responsible to: Engineering Manager
Relationships with: Director, Factory Manager, Production Manager, Sales, Marketing & Administration Manager, Design Engineers.

Key Tasks
Coordinate provision of technical documentation for all products.
Create training plans, lesson plans and training materials for a variety of product training courses, in line with company brand guidelines.
Conduct product training in both the UK and abroad for military and civilian customers/users.
Evaluate and improve training provision.
Manage budget for training provision.
Conduct product demonstrations and tests in both the UK and abroad for military and civilian customers/users.
Maintain demonstration equipment to ensure readiness. Liaise with the Sales and Marketing department to ensure timely delivery and return of demonstration equipment.
Conduct warranty/non-warranty inspections (fault finding) in both the UK and abroad for military and civilian customers/users. Remedy faults on site where feasible.
Conduct inspection of goods produced for sale in both the UK and abroad for military and civilian customers/users.
Suggest solutions to eliminate faults and improve product quality.
Introduce, implement, review and improve documentation to improve procedures within your area of responsibility (Standard Operating Procedures).
To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by your line manager/senior management.

Qualifications - Essential:
Educated to NQF Level 3.
Training the trainer or similar qualification.

Qualifications – Desirable:
Educated to NQF Level 5.
Plant operator.
HGV licence.

Skills/Abilities – Essential:
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver training courses in a confident and engaging manner.
Ability to carry out fair student assessments and document results.
Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
Health and safety awareness.
Excellent IT skills.
Project management skills.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Safe working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
Ability to carry out repair work in the field.
Ability to work calmly under pressure in difficult physical environments.

Skills/Abilities – Desirable:
Ability to communicate in foreign languages.
Technical writing.
Equipment maintenance.

Experience – Essential:
Establishing and documenting procedures.
Managing production of technical documentation.
Delivering training courses.
Conducting inspections.
Maintaining equipment.
Hydraulic, mechanical and electrical fault finding and hand on repair in field.
International travel.

Experience – Desirable:
Military background.
Knowledge of military protocol, systems and procedures.

Other Requirements – Essential:
Valid driving licence.
Willing and able to travel frequently in the UK and internationally at short notice.
Valid passport. No restrictions in obtaining visas etc.
Flexible regarding working arrangements (times/location).
Physically and mentally fit to be able to work outside in demanding environmental conditions.

Performance Management:
Periodic performance reviews will take place with your line manager to address training requirements, monitor Key Performance Indicators and set objectives.

Preference: My client is ideally looking for a Warrant Officer, Royal Engineer (or equivalent other service or civilian experience).
