My client, who provides superior products and service solutions to Oil & Gas customers in upstream, production, transportation, refining and related industries, is currently seeking an EHS & Security Supervisor for their operations in Basra.

You will be reporting to the Security Manager and your role will be to facilitate the smooth running of the Workshop and Accommodation Camp in West Qurna 2. Be responsible for the security and health and safety of employees on site and in transit by being the principle agent and contact between my client and the Mobile Security Providers (MSP)

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Workshop and Employee Accommodation Camp facility meets all health and safety requirements and is subject to continuous improvement
• Be liaison and main point of contact for employees and contractors for all issues and matters arising relevant to Workshop facility and Accommodation camp
• PSD Mission control relating to the safe transportation of persons to their areas of work
• Deal with day to day complaints and concerns raised in camp
• Coordinate Visa process including medical and blood tests through local HR personnel
• Manage Time sheets for PSD vehicles as required.
• Invoice verification for PSD vehicles and accommodation booking
• Manage Accommodation allocation to employees
• Manages in country day-to-day MOBILE SECURITY PROVIDER(S) interaction
• Contract compliance and dispute management with regard to the supply of PSD teams
• Develop and build and refine all security tools and processes to ensure all required measures for operating in country are fully met with the priority of ensuring safety and security for all company personnel and sub-contractors
• Scheduling and planning Drills for evacuations / medical evacuations / Security threats etc
• Monitor and control security clearance for personnel and sub-contractors to enter and exit Iraq
• Liaise closely with Regional Management, Local Administration, and company Projects team on security schedules and operational issues
• Command and control the journey missions (i.e. meet and greet service at airport, demobilization of resources) at all times ensuring all work is conducted safely, in line with directives set between the company and the MOBILE SECURITY PROVIDER(S)
• Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to security are updated and followed at all times
• Produce, monitor and implement SOPs as required
• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
• Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed as per SOPs
• Ability to complete threat assessments and risk assessments on requests of group Management
• In case of emergency security situation take command of the situation to ensure safety of company personnel in Basra region
• Monitor security situation in the workshop area and advice security precautions to be taken in case of any threat
• Engage with company personnel in Basra as first contact person on security situation in Basra area
• Advice to management on security threat levels and preventive measure to be taken
• Monitor security situation by interaction with PSD provider
• Monthly Security Report to be submit to group Management
• Create and maintain contingency plan
• Monitoring of PSD movement licenses to ensure the movement plan
• Forecast the PSD team requirement 2 weeks in advance based on the manpower plan

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
• Qualifications in English and Military education equivalent
• Degree or Professional Qualification in Facility Management
• NEBOSH IGC Required
• Project Management qualifications are desirable
• Professional Security Management qualifications
• Should be IT literate
• Commercial Security Management experience
• Previous military service record in Armed Forces or equivalent
• Attainment of appropriate rank given the number of years served (as a minimum SNCO)
• Experience in working in hostile environments
• Experience in planning mobile missions
• Experience in admin related work
• Military or Commercial Training experience
• Commercial experience in Iraq
• Logistics and vehicle planning experience
• Proven supervision skills and the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure in a fast paced, high risk environment.
• Proven IT skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Mail, Excel, Access, Word & Power Point).
• Proven map reading skills.

Language Skills:
• Very good verbal command of the English language.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Good client liaison skills.

Physical Demands:
• Must be physically fit and able to cope with excessive tropical conditions

They client is paying a good daily package, with life support, insurance, flights and transport covered, and you will be working a 6 week on, 2 week off rotation.

The daily rate for a SNCO, who has NEBOSH and who has some form of experience in the Middle East would be circa $300 per day. However they are willing to go to $350 per day, but would need to have more than 5 years experience in private security out of which at least 3 years would be in the Iraq region as well as the NEBOSH qualification.
