My client, an engineering company with contracts to the MoD is now seeking a Senior Technician Avionics to join them at Leconfield for this fixed term contract until end of Jun 2015.

Job Description
My client wishes to appoint a Senior Technician Avionics Reporting to the AW Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities
To support the delivery of the Search and Rescue (SAR) task at Leconfield on the SKIOS contract. My client provides Sea King helicopter maintenance and additional technical support to the AgustaWestlands (AW) Site management team on 7 SAR sites across UK and at MPC Falkland Islands.

Primary Responsibilities will include:

• Undertake aircraft maintenance within trade as tasked by the AW Shift Supervisor.
• Operation and maintenance of aircraft ground support equipment
• Preparation of aircraft for road or air transportation
• Maintenance in support of storage tasks
• Other engineering tasks in support of the SAR operation as directed by the AW Shift Supervisor or Senior Technicians
• Aircraft washing and cleaning
• Carry out independent inspections
• Determine the level of flight servicing required after maintenance Flight Line Operations
• Aircraft movement and handling
• Aircraft marshalling
• Preparation of aircraft for flight and security of aircraft after flight.
• FOD clearance and dispersal area security checks Business Performance
• Complete all aircraft and equipment maintenance and documentation in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
• Carry out flight line operations in accordance with published Procedures and Instructions.
• Provide technical support to other SAR sites as required.
• Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environment regulations and exercise a Duty of Care promoting a positive approach towards workplace health and safety.
• Promote best practice and report bad practice and non-compliance to ensure continual improvement in the organisation.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Accredited Aircraft Apprenticeship, Service equivalent trade training, NVQ level 3 or equivalent, which demonstrates the practical and theoretical standards required.
• Appropriate Sea King trade group courses
• Full driving license
• Aircraft engineering including one year in a supervisory position
• MOD aircraft engineering procedures.
• Flight Line Operations
Working Hours

Hours: 42.5/week, 3 days, 3 standby, 3 nights, 3 off

Security

The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
