Our client is a specialist Third Sector (Not-for-Profit) Organisation offering therapeutic help to adults and children, individuals and families, affected by a wide range of traumatic occurrences. Based at a central clinic in Rugby in the English Midlands, their therapists have been trained to use evidence-based models to help sufferers rebuild their lives and move on following a traumatic experience that has impacted them. They now have a requirement for further area based sessional therapists to work with both the symptoms of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and also with Traumatic Bereavement and Grief.

Job description
Under the management of the Clinical Director the candidate will provide specialist face to face therapy to their clients who have experienced traumatic bereavement through homicide.
The client is a member of the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and all of their specialist therapists are expected to work according to evidence based practice models (currently trauma-focused C.B.T. and E.M.D.R.), and in accordance with ethical practice.
Key Tasks
1. To provide specialist trauma therapy to clients, as directed by the Director of Client Services, in the client’s home or other identified suitable premises.
2. Ability and willingness to travel to see clients as required.
3. To provide information on service provision and trauma/Traumatic Bereavement/Post Traumatic Stress related issues.
4. To deliver client services directly, and to receive appropriate clinical supervision as agreed and arranged with the Clinical Director. External supervision will be by telephone with a supervisor from the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre.
5. To provide information on service provision and trauma/Traumatic Bereavement/Post Traumatic Stress related issues.
6. To make notes of each client session, including reasons for cancellations and non-attendance and to provide copies of notes to the office on a monthly basis.
7. To maintain client confidentiality and respect at all times.
8. To maintain all records in line with the Data Protection Act.
9. To be aware of and to adhere to current safeguarding legislation.
10. To be non-judgemental in approach to all the work.
11. To adhere to all company policies and procedures and to promote the values, spirit and ethos of the organisation at all times.
12. To be a positive and contributing member of the company team and to attend team meetings and training events as arranged.
13. To collect and maintain statistical performance data as required.

Person specification
Essential Requirements:
• Relevant professional qualifications and/or significant recent experience, the minimum requirement is being qualification in CBT to at least diploma level.
• Post Diploma experience in working with psychological trauma.
• Training/qualification in Trauma focused C.B.T.
• Membership of the UK Psychological Trauma Society and having or working towards the ESTSS General Certificate in Psychotraumatology.
• A knowledge and understanding of Traumatic Bereavement and of current treatment options according to relevant NICE guidelines.
• Well-developed literacy, numeracy and written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate with people from a variety of social, cultural and professional backgrounds.
• A commitment to the aims and guiding principles of the organisation with regard to the support of those who are experiencing Traumatic Bereavement.
• The ability to work on your own, to be self-motivated and directed.
• Ability and willingness to travel to see clients as required.
• A non-judgemental approach.
• Openness to new ideas and flexibility in relation to ways of working.
• Availability to attend the company internal and external training courses, team meetings and supervision.
• A working knowledge of current Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection Act legislation.

Desirable Requirements:
Ability, experience and willingness to work with both adults and children.

N.B.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS) formerly C.R.B.
