2 x Resident Engineers vacancy in Caribbean Islands (111jc)

Our Client is seeking two Resident Engineers for their properties in the Caribbean Islands. For one role they are seeking more Electrical Mechanical Bias and the other more hands on FM type.

These are Live-In Position with responsibilities including management of the maintenance team who deal with the day-to-day room maintenance as well as the island’s infrastructure and equipment like generators, water plant, vehicles, boats and pools to name but a few. A hands-on approach to management is also expected and critical.

The Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of all areas of the property ensuring the health & safety of our guests and team in relation to buildings, plant, equipment and services and t oversee any construction or service projects

Duties include:
• Management of the Maintenance Team
• Carry out specialist and other maintenance tasks
• To undertake and manage a preventative management programme
• Control of costs in line with budget
• Oversee outside contactors and suppliers
• Source and monitor quality of suppliers
• Support the Project Manager on specific projects
• Monitor and manage the island’s pest control
• Be the Statutory Co-ordinator for the property and ensure Health & safety and Fire regulations are carried out to a UK standard
• Carry out regular checks of equipment – fire alarm systems, refrigeration and AC systems, RO plant and greywater distribution system, generators, pools equipment etc.
• Paperwork and documentation management – guarantees, service contracts etc.
• To support the initiative of the Island sustainability scheme and ensure that all new installations meet this criteria.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Background / Education in either Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or Marine Engineering
• Practical experience with Plumbing, Desalination Plants, Air Con Units, Generators and general repair work
• Man management experience
• Budgeting experience and obtaining quotes and tenders
• Experience of Preventative Maintenance Programmes
• Fire and Health & Safety responsibilities
• Overseas experience beneficial
• Experience of or interest in sustainability issues

• Initial 12 month contract (subject to work permit approval) with possibility of long term permanent position.
