KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan, budget and directly line manage all operational services in accordance with the Business Plan including third party contracts required for Operational Services

• Safety Aspects:
o Manage and review performance with the Metropolitan Police, Hammersmith & Fulham Council and other agencies for the BID-sponsored Police Constables, CCTV Operator to secure their active commitment and support
o Attend and service relevant Stakeholder meetings such as Cyber Crime & Ward Crime panel, Safer Neighbourhood Board
o Organise and lead on the Pubwatch and Shopwatch meetings
o Manage the Literoralis software with H&F Council
o Expand and lead on the counter-terrorism initiative
o Organise/ represent the BID on Project Argus, Project Griffin, Dr Bikes workshops

• Operational Sector:
o Manage and review the performance of the BID’s Street Ambassador
o Assist team in street improvement programmes and monitor planned works
o Lead on project delivery of safety and operational initiatives such as recycling

• Business Continuity:
o Lead on and Deliver the BID’s Business Continuity initiative
o Actively engage levy payers as a BID Business Liaison representative
o Liaise with Hammersmith & Fulham Council on all aspects of Operational Delivery

• Financial, Monitoring & Administrative Aspects:
o Develop, manage and control budgets for such services
o Ensure proper contracts are in place with third parties, suppliers and service providers
o Initiate frequent mid-term and post contract reviews
o Maintain records and implement appropriate service monitoring and reporting
o Provide operational support for Stakeholder and Board communications

• Undertake such other duties commensurate with the position and/or hours of work as may reasonably be required


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Suitable candidates will be well educated and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a security and operations role. You will have good communication skills, an eye for detail, an ability to work with the public and the confidence to work in isolation. Computers are used in all areas of the work and so a good working knowledge is essential.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Five plus years in related area of security, operations management or equivalent experience to meet the requirements of the post
• Effective and proven management and leadership qualities
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts
• Ability to prepare and manage budgets and contracts
• Good working knowledge of database management
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Experience of independently drafting a range of documents including e-mails, letters and presentations
• Excellent telephone skills and the ability to manage a range of external clients with tact and sensitivity
• Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint
• Effective time management and organisational skills and the initiative to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to use own initiative with confidence, using own judgement to refer up where necessary
• Flexible approach to changing priorities and requirements
• An informed interest / experience in town centre management
