My client is one of the UK’s leading engineering support services organisation employing over 28,000 people across the world and they are now looking for a Training Delivery Instructor to join their operation in Portsmouth.

Your role will be to deliver high quality training in line with Company standards and contractual requirements. Please note that this is a Part Time role circa 30 hrs per week.

There for your responsibilities will include:
Main Tasks:
• Deliver Tactical Meteorology training, Marine Mammal Observation and other training delivery tasks associated with training RN and International Officers. Some elements of watch-keeping may be required.
• Manage maintenance, defect repair and support of TACHM training equipment to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme to be maintained
• Liaise with 2nd Line equipment support contractors as defined by the Authority
• Maintain currency and SQEP in line with technical experience
• Provide Training Support in the form of SME to TD and QA staff
• Undertake wider contract delivery and support tasks as deemed appropriate by Training Delivery Team Manager (Specialist Warfare).

Other Duties & Responsibilities:
• Carries out any other appropriate task that may be required from time to time
• Employees are responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and also students in their care
• The nature of RN training requires a high degree of flexibility for all FOAP staff; there may be a requirement for travel between FOAP delivery sites within the UK
• Watch-keeping may be required outside of normal working hours

To be eligible for this role you will need the following:

Technical Experience and Qualifications:
• WMO258 accreditation plus a minimum of 3 years' practical forecasting experience - Essential
• BSc or higher in Meteorology or close equivalent - Essential
• RN Tactical HM Course or equivalent - Desirable
• Security Clearance DV - Desirable
• JNCC Marine Mammal Observer certification or equivalent - Desirable
• Level 4 Certificate in Education & Learning or equivalent (or higher) - Desirable

• Possesses sufficient knowledge to respond to learners needs; professionally as a technical subject matter expert; educationally as a training practitioner and practically as a mentor or coach
• Demonstrates effective communication skills in the learning environment
• Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of assessment methods and can design these as appropriate in order to measure the effectiveness of the training against stated training objectives
• Provides effective learner advice, guidance and support
• Is able to develop and adapt course material as appropriate

Security:
All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, security clearance and 5 years employment reference checks.

As stated, this will be a part time term time only position working 30 hours per week for 45 weeks per year.
