This client, who is a global provider of world class, end-to-end supply chain services across a variety of sectors and are currently seeking an Acquisition Safety and Quality Lead for their MoD contract

You will be reporting to the Head of Commodity Management and working in the Commodity Management team, and your role will be to provide a customer-facing, technical-focused team covering all elements define an item of supply including Acquisition Safety Management and Product Quality Assurance.

Therefore your responsibilities will include:
• Be the Acquisition Safety Environmental Management Champion within CSS.
• Be responsible for developing, revising and implementing Safety and Environmental Management and Product Quality standards and policies.
• Lead, develop and motivate the Acquisition Safety and Product Quality team.
• Produce and maintain the Team Leidos Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS).
• Provide guidance to the wider Commodity/Equipment Teams in the development of safety statements and safety cases.
• Be the principal point of contact with the MOD’s LDOC Chief Engineer for Acquisition Safety related issues.
• Develop and implement an Acquisitions Safety internal audit system.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
• A deep understanding and practical experience of the MOD’s Acquisition Safety System.
• Experience of leading and managing a team.
• Proven ability to move seamlessly from strategy to execution and deliver tangible results.
• Interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to influence, negotiate, build consensus and make key strategic decisions.
• Proven experience interfacing with and establishing technical relationships with senior management.

This role would suit an individual who has a wealth of technical and hands on experience of the logistics procurement systems in the Forces, and you will be acting as a lynch pin between the company and the MOD in translating MOD requirements for equipment and materials into language which can be understood by the internal procurement teams to source what is being requested.
