My client which was formed in 2012 to help companies create a cost-effective and capable Tech, Digital and Media workforces by providing leading edge apprentice programmes for both their current workforce and new recruits.

They are now seeking an Assistant Delivery Manager, your area will be Manchester and Birmingham, and however you will be required to travel to London on a frequent basis as well. Your role will be to focus on ensuring the high quality of delivery and assessment of learning occurs for all company apprentices:
• Meet/exceed the expectations of the stakeholders (learners and employers)
• Ensure Manchester and Birmingham Apprentice Advisors consistently meet KPIs
• Address any areas of underperformance within the Manchester and Birmingham delivery team as per Company Capability Management Process
• Maintain long term sustainable and profitable client relationships
• Promote Company’s full range of services

Context:
The Assistant Delivery Manager provides effective and accessible line management to the Manchester and Birmingham based Company Apprentice Advisors, supports and helps to guide curriculum changes/development, engages with employers at all levels (SME – Large Employer) acting as a POC for all apprenticeship programmes.

Dimensions:
• This role directly impacts on the Quality and Compliance of Apprentices by meeting and exceeding retention and success rate targets to maximize the number of apprentices that ‘go the distance’ on their respective learning programme.
• This is a customer facing role with equal focus on developing existing clients as well as taking every opportunity to acquire new clients.
• A high proportion of time each week will be spent in organisational training centers, supporting the delivery team directly. There is also a requirement for attendance at key meetings, inclusive of Operations, SMT, Quality & Compliance and Programme Standardisation.

You will be reporting to the Delivery Manager who will in turn report to the COO.

Key Outputs:
• Accountability and responsibility for meeting/exceeding monthly company KPI’s
• Managing all aspects of stakeholder engagement and contributing to stakeholder satisfaction
• Demonstrating a ‘Hands-on’ approach to line management
• Creating, implementing and delivering scheduled sessions to compliment the skills and experience of the Apprentice’s
• Supporting others with their own CPD thus ensuring that Apprentice’s have the skills and expertise to drive forward a high quality portfolio of learning programmes
• Maintain full, accurate and timely reporting to Director of Operations (weekly reports) and to the Operations team (monthly meetings)
• Provide management reporting on caseloads, learners at risk, funding at risk and compliance against KPI targets
• Engage senior management in facilities management of the company training centres
• Working collaboratively with Head of Quality & Compliance to address any underperformance and/or stakeholder dissatisfaction
• Attendance at weekly ‘Learner Focus’ call
• Collation and submission of ‘Master Learner RAG’ report
• Critical monitoring of New Starter List, Learner Profiles and Touch Points
• Detailed analysis of ‘Funding at Risk’ report and ownership of any remedial actions
• Peer OTLA’s of AA delivery to support OTLA strategy and inform own performance management checks


Relationships:
External: Existing and potential client organisations and relevant affiliates
Internal: A wide range of cross functional teams including BDM’s, ARC’s, Quality & Compliance, Curriculum, Operations, SMT

Decision Making Authority:
The Assistant Delivery Manager will have a large amount of self-management. Some sign-off on budget related items to be authorised by the Delivery Manager.

Key Performance Indicators will include:
• Specific KPI’s include:
• 85% Success Rates per academic year
• 100% Timely Completion Rates per academic year
• 90% Retention Rates per academic year
• 100% compliance against AA KPI
• Less than 5% funding at risk per AA by caseload value
• 100% submission of all essential reports

To be eligible for this role you will need the following qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills:

Essential
• Minimum 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
• Industry experience in either IT or Digital
• Sector relevant management experience (Apprenticeships or other funded learning programmes)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to persuade and negotiate
• Ability to effectively engage and communicate with a wide range of people
• Ability to prepare and present high quality reports
• Proactive, process compliant, with ability to work alone and with/through others
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills to balance a variety of tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to create and execute strategic plans and strategies
• Ability to manage all aspects of client stakeholder engagement
• Ability to fully understand and convey value propositions
• IT skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to create and deliver reports and presentations, ad hoc and beyond the scope of normal KPIs
• Confident in building and maintaining senior level relationships with clients.

Desired
• Degree level or equivalent qualifications
• Demonstrable experience and impact in performance management of individuals and teams
• Exposure to external inspectorates such as SFA, Ofsted, Awarding Organisations
• High level IT skills to support classroom infrastructure.
