Our client is a leading advisor on tax rebating financial services, and as the Armed Forces Liaison Officer (RALO) you are ultimately accountable for developing and maintaining profitable and enduring relationships at unit and individual level with new and existing customers. You’ll arrange and conduct briefings and meetings at military bases with all personnel ranging from recruits to senior officers, and coordinate wider unit communication, in order to raise awareness of the clients tax refund services. Working closely with the Head of Armed Forces Liaison, you will develop your local network of contacts as well as build on existing client contacts within units, and coordinate activity that will support the delivery of outcomes against an agreed schedule and targets.

Customer delivery
• Developing and maintaining new and existing contacts and relationships that engender trust and sustainability.
• Supporting unit personnel with appropriate information and guidance to enable them to claim a refund via the client as a first time customer, or repeat the process as an existing customer.
• Coordinating unit internal communication to complement the visit programme.
• Supporting new and existing customers with the capture of key information requirements and completion of the paperwork process.
• Tailoring your approach to appeal to the audience (across all levels within the military), and overcoming barriers to secure their commitment to any given refund.
• Liaising with the Commercial, Sales and Operations teams to feed your product knowledge so that you are able to confidently impart sound and up-to-date knowledge and advice to existing and prospective customers and partners.
• Liaising with the external business development team dedicated to a similar role for the construction industry in order to exchange ideas and support best practice.
• Encouraging customer feedback to help influence Marketing and Customer Experience strategies.

Results delivery
• Delivering against set lead generation and conversion targets.
• Delivering against set sales and profits targets.
• Meeting unit and overall targets for new and repeat customers within the region, as defined on a quarterly basis.
• Attending military bases across South East England to identify, qualify and sign up potential customers to the clients Tax Refund Service.
• Developing a network of contacts through building a rapport with key military personnel on site such as the RSM, CSM, Adjt, OC or 2iC to facilitate access.
• Supporting the development of further communication activity and target setting via feedback of unique unit and personnel related information, such as movements of regiments or key personnel.
• Investigating and resolving any customer concerns or objections in a pragmatic manor, using relevant service features and benefits to draw a solution.
• Maintaining regular daily contact with the Head of Armed Forces Liaison to update on current activities/achievements and future plans ahead.
• Scheduling to re-engage unconverted prospects.
• Attending relevant networking events to promote the client.

Scheduling and Administration
• Scheduling and conducting regular units and briefings across South East England in an agreed, co-ordinated manner with key personnel and larger target audiences.
• Completing appropriate unit reports and maintain weekly unit visit and communication planner.
• Ensuring compliance and adherence to company processes.
• Maintaining and accurately updating the CRM.

Essential Candidate qualities
• Recently retired or soon to retire Warrant Officer or former SSgt or CSgt.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
• Self-motivated and target-driven.
• Strong networking and relationship building skills.
• Confident yet approachable.
• Capable of adapting communication style.
• Strong presentation and delivery skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload.
• A true team player with strong collaboration skills.

• From time to time, you may be required to carry out tasks that fall outside of your position’s remit.
• Within reason, you may be required to work outside of your standard contracted hours to meet the needs of the business.
As part of your ongoing development, candidates may be required to undertake training in order to meet the requirements of the role.
