My client is an expanding company with an ever growing global client list, who are recognised by the ICAO to deliver approved Aviation Security Training, and they are now seeking to recruit a dedicated AvSec Project Manager for the company.

Your role will be as follows:

• As an AvSec Project Manager you are personally responsible to the Assured Security Board of Directors for the creation, management and delivery of overseas or UK projects in support of clients seeking to assess, analyse, rectify or improve their aviation security (AvSec) policies, practices or procedures.
• As a Project Manager, you are expected lead the development and implementation of solutions for clients and lead others assigned to our projects in which to achieve the agreed goals. Furthermore, you are to nurture opportunities for growth, establishing and strengthening relations with prospective and existing clients.

Therefore your mission will be to direct and support the delivery of overseas or UK projects, applying your knowledge and expertise as required to support clients to address their aviation security concerns spanning the production of strategic level interventions through to direct oversight of operational delivery.

You will report directly to the Operations Director, who will be your main point of contact. You are also required to keep other members of the Board and other managers informed of relevant developments and activities in order that projects and developments can be monitored for standards, costs and timelines.

Therefore your specific responsibilities include:

1. Technical Expertise - you will be expected to:
• Maintain and develop your knowledge and expertise of ICAO Annex 17, Doc 8973, EU and UK DfT legislation and regulations.
• Lead the design, implementation, collation, analysis and reporting of multi-site audits and inspections against international, regional and national legislation as well as all client AvSec programmes.
• Develop AvSec change programmes to meet client requirements and direct their implementation as required.
• Produce analytical reports ready for regulatory / governmental analysis
• Direct and lead the strategic implementation of AvSec regulations
• Fulfil the role of a senior security manager in key aviation security functions; e.g. airport, cargo, in-flight supplies.
• Contribute to the production and amendment of National Security Programmes
• Produce and /or amend Site / Entity Aviation Security Programmes and associated Standard Operating procedures.
• Instruct and mentor client and Redline staff in key aviation security functions.

2. Management Skills – you must be able to:
• Determine project requirements, coordinate with available resources to achieve success within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Build and lead teams effectively and inspire others to achieve required outcomes and goals
• Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end
• Communicate effectively with staff and clients.
• Manage situations requiring diplomacy and tact seeking to avoid / de-escalate conflict and or hostility.
• Manage multiple tasks, determining priorities as appropriate; with the flexibility to adapt and adjust to unforeseen circumstances.
• Conduct performance reviews with team members, providing feedback to support their development and career progression.

3. Project Management – you must:
• Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place
• Allocate resources to tasks and evaluate the progress and performance of team members
• Be proficient in project scheduling and resource management
• Plan, budget and report on the status of your projects
• Make presentations on project status, present routine reports to senior management
• Meet with client teams and gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress
• Manage projects within budgetary constraints maintaining regular oversight and early warning of potential deviation.

4. General:
• You will be expected, in addition to the above, to support Redline in the achievement of our goals and objectives to undertake any task that falls within your capability and expertise here in the UK or Overseas.

You are to accept tasking primarily from the Operations Director but also when directly approached by board members. If you feel that you are being over-tasked and cannot complete all that is requested of you to a sufficiently high standard, or if you feel you are being given conflicting advice please approach the MD directly for guidance.

You will have significant and the board will place a great deal of faith in you, therefore, providing that you deliver on your Mission and Priorities, you will have considerable freedom to develop, implement and manage the company marketing activities.

You will also have a sizeable budget which will be under constant review, that you will be able to spend on relevant and justifiable business development activities, such as entertaining clients, without further reference to the Board. These costs are to be accounted for through the normal company expenses system.

However with these freedoms you will have to consult with the board of directors about:

• Issues which are likely to have a strategic impact on the company.
• Major development/growth strategies.
• Financial expenditure beyond routine expenses.
• Issues which will expose the Company to positive or adverse media interest.
• Potential conflicts of interest between contracts.
• Suggestions of partnering/teaming with other organisations.
• Any external authoritative communication.
• Changes to company policy or working conditions/requirements.

In return their remuneration package includes a competitive salary, 30 days paid holiday per year plus 8 Bank Holidays, pension, death in service benefit, business travel insurance, accommodation and daily living allowances when overseas, and continued professional development resulting in industry qualifications.
