My client is one of the globes leading integrator of payment and information solutions and related services for intelligent travel applications, and they are now seeking to recruit a dynamic Field Services Technician for their expanding team.

They challenge themselves to remain at the forefront of their industry and continually develop new tools to keep up with ever-changing technologies and the growing demand for simpler travel solutions.

They are looking for a self-motivated Field Service Technician to deliver a customer service experience that improves customer satisfaction, maximises customer retention and increases profitability.

The role is to assist in the efficient service delivery of the Installation and Maintenance of road safety equipment predominantly in Southern region of England and South Wales. The work will involve all aspects of the installation process from site survey to the full installation of camera enforcement sites and on-going field operations maintenance.

The role will report to their Installation Lead for the Southern Region of the Safer Road Services (SRS) and you will work within a small team of technical staff effectively and harmoniously to deliver the contract objectives.

The role will be based from home and you will be reporting to their SRS facility in Kingswinford in the West Midlands, but you will be tasked from your home location and will be covering South East England and possibly South Wales, so therefore they are seeking someone who lives near the North or West part of the M25.

Therefore your key duties and responsibilities will include:
• Taking prime responsibility for the completion of all work tasks allocated daily.
• Adherence to Company policies and procedures, ensuring tasks are delivered on time and associated documentation completed in accordance with our maintenance management system.
• Interfacing with the Customer throughout the lifecycle of any task to ensure its completeness.
• Undertake and work in strict accordance to Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Identifying and reporting site risks appropriately in a timely and effective manner.
• Ensure the safe delivery of services and achievement in strict accordance with legislation and Company Health & Safety procedures and processes.
• Supporting the SRS management team in delivering the contract interpretation of Corporate strategy to ensure that Company ITMS remains aligned to its goals and organisational values; Maintaining and expanding your industry knowledge across the ITS sector, enforcement and road safety.
• Assisting in the delivery of all projects whether large, small or complex to time, cost and quality to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Provide feedback and possible solutions on any product related site issue.
• Internal communications with installation lead personnel and operations administration team. Externally liaising with operational personnel within the customer organisations.
• Internally working with the SRS management team to meet overall SRS business objectives.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience:

Qualifications
Essential:
• A solid background in road side technology. Qualification (or relevant experience in lieu of) in an appropriate technology/engineering/business discipline.
• Ability to work in a safe environment unsupervised on local roads and UK trunk / motorway network
• National Highways Sector Scheme 8 qualified (or understanding / experience and ability to obtain it)
• G39 qualification (or understanding / experience and ability to obtain it)
• City & Guilds qualifications in Requirements for Electrical Installations and Inspection and Test (BS7671) 17th Edition or equivalent
Desirable:
• ONC /HNC engineering qualification
• City & Guilds / BTEC engineering certification
• City & Guilds qualifications in Electrical Inspection and Test

Skills/Experience/Knowledge
Essential:
• Experience in ITS / Traffic signal / highways electrical installations and maintenance or similar discipline
• Experience is completing and signing electrical test certificates in highway electrical environment
• Experience of working on / understanding of 3G/ADSL external hardware communication devices
• Broad knowledge and understanding of ITS / highway electrical technologies and engineering and associated legislation and standards;
• Experience of liaising with customers and stakeholders including customer meetings;
• Strong delivery focus with a problem solving and analytical ability;
• Very good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with both technical and non-technical people;
• Experience of working effectively in small multi-disciplinary teams and with multiple parties (internal and external);
• Experience with MS Office programs for time and job sheet applications
• Use of hand held interface devices for undertaking diagnostic testing and uploading of data
• A full (clean desirable) UK Drivers Licence;
• NNPV3 vetting standard or the ability to achieve it.
Desirable:
• Experience in a similar field operations based product team
• An interest in both intelligent traffic systems and the wider operational services that they support
• Experience in working safely whilst unsupervised on the local roads and UK trunk road / motorway network

• A focus on delivering services and outcomes, not just technical systems;
• An ability to bring a focused yet diplomatic approach to the resolution of conflict both within the engineering team and between the customer/stakeholder and the delivery team
• The ability to learn quickly and to think laterally
• An all-round high energy and positive ‘can do’ proactive and enthusiastic approach, but with understanding of when to seek guidance and / or escalate issues
• The ability to distil and convey key issues to team leader and administration staff
• Commercial understanding including Cubic business and customer aspects
• Confidence to challenge on our service engineering offering
• Enthusiastic and flexible, ability to find a solution to problems
• Numerate;
• Willingness to travel as required

The ideal individual would probably be JNCO/SNCO from a construction or engineering background, who is seeking to move into an established and expanding company.
