Primary Objectives & Functions:
• Control Delivery Master Schedule.
• Perform analysis of monthly schedule performance and provide metrics reports.
• Maintain programme forward resource & task load forecasts.
• Advise PMs of optimizing opportunities within the schedule
• Maintain close liaison with PMO regarding schedule
• Be fully competent with regard to in house PMG’s and BMS guidance
• Ensure consistency of Company data with MOD Master Listing
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Working as part of the Delivery team, the Planner will maintain the master schedule on behalf of the Senior Programme Manager (SPM). The planner will co-ordinate with project staff to maintain status of the schedule, and analyse performance to provide metrics to support management of the programme.
The Planner has the following responsibilities:
• Understand work scope and engineering/ contractual processes.
• Understand WBS structure and work with SPM in the development of the WBS for scheduling.
• Prepare and manage the overall master schedule integrating the WBS structure using Microsoft Project.
• Co-ordinate and implement schedule updates with Project Managers, report schedule updates to Programme Management Office (PMO) and SPM.
• Co-ordinate schedules from subcontractors, incorporate information gathered into the overall master schedule using Key Inter-Dependencies.
• Provision of monthly resource planning information updates for the programme and provision of resource forward demand to the PMO.
• Prepare agreed project metrics reports that measure and analyse deviations from the baseline plan.
• Analyse gaps between planned and actual progress and highlight areas of concern.
• Perform probabilistic analysis of completion dates and potential alternatives. Present risk based analysis of most likely completion and expected deviation range
Contact With Others (Internal/External/Meetings):
The Planner will require daily contact with Project Managers in order to maintain and develop the master schedule. Will be required when necessary to present to senior Company staff, UK MOD and SANG the results of schedule analysis. The Planner will attend all programme meetings.
Judgement/Decision Making Authority (Specific Responsibilities):
Liaise with programme staff to communicate required completion dates for schedule activities, re-schedule where needed using available float to maintain key milestone dates.
Recruitment Specification (Knowledge & Experience):
Essential
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
• Demonstrable experience of project planning and control of large engineering programmes.
• Prince2 practitioner or experience of structured project management methodology
• Understand Earned Value.
• Proficient with MS excel, MS Project, Primavera, SAP.
• Strong standard of written and spoken English.
Desirable
• P Networks and Network Delivery knowledge
• Experience of “Monte Carlo†risk analysis
As this role is based in Saudi Arabia, candidates must meet all of the minimum qualifications as they are not bound by UK or EU Laws, also only individuals up to the age of 55 will be considered for any of these roles.
