Maintenance Operative (359jc) – Celle and Frankfurt, West Germany – up to £45k on the German Net

My client, who are in the Building Services sector specialising in the IT critical facilities sector are now seeking a further 2 Ex-Pats to join their team in Germany as a Maintenance Operatives.

You will be reporting to the Project Manager, and your role will be to conduct general maintenance of mission-critical electrical and data installations by carrying out quarterly Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI’s) and ad-hoc visits when required to maintain the grounds, which consists of about 9 sites at present, but looking to expand later in the year.

Therefore, your role will consist of:
• Conduct Quarterly Planned Maintenance Inspections (PMI’s) on all sites in the designated area of responsibility to include, but not limited to:
1. Site DC Rectifier System
2. Upkeep and maintenance of Generators – topping up oil, fuel, radiator fluids.
3. Check status of the Fire Suppression System
4. Maintain fire extinguishers.
5. Changing and maintaining light bulbs
6. General cleaning of containers/work units
7. Site integrity
8. General cleanliness of the Site
• Receive incoming telephone calls from the Operations Support Team and dispatching to investigate site issues where required.
• Carry-out fault finding (with remote support if required) when dispatched to site on an emergency call-out, this includes any power failures and leakages.
• Update PMI with site fault repairs and issues
• A Company vehicle will be provided, the Maintenance Operative is responsible for ensuring the vehicle maintenance schedules are adhered to.
• BCPML will provide a toolkit, the Maintenance Operative is responsible for ensuring all tools remain in good working order and any required replacements are notified to BCPML Project Manager.
• Attend any ongoing training, as required.
• Any other reasonable duties which may be requested by BCPML Management from time to time.

Your work hours will be on a rotational basis alongside an additional Operative to carry out PMI’s and provide callout cover, 24hrs per day, 7 days a week, the rotation will be 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

The ideal candidate would be someone who is already based out in Germany and on the German Net, based near Celle and Frankfurt areas as your region will cover the Hannover/Hildesheime/Celle as well as travelling out as far as Rostock and Kiel regions, as this is central to most of their contract which have a 4 hr call out period.

There are now real qualifications for this role, but you will need some basic engineering skills and able to call in to the HQ and liaise with engineers over the phone when required.

The ideal candidate would probably be an ex-Generator Mech or similar from the forces and who is seeking a solid role in a growing company.

All tools, vehicle (Fully expensed), laptop and mobile phone will be provided by the client, as well as ongoing backup and support.

In return they are offering a good starting salary and German benefits package, which will put you on the German net as well as 20 days leave per year, which added to the 2 weeks off rotation will in effect give you 80 days off per year.
