Diesel Fitter (036jc) – Exeter - £30,420 + OT + Benefits

This client who are a national company that specialise in the supply of Hydraulic and Electric submersible pumps are now seeking to recruit an additional Diesel Fitter in its growing team to be based in Exeter.

You will be reporting to the Depot Foreman and your role will be to deliver, maintain and repair my client’s equipment in the local area, as well as some on site-based repair and general duties.

Therefore, you will need experience on small plant equipment including relevant electrics, as well as diesel powered equipment and knowledge on hydraulic systems, however some training may be offered on the hydraulic side of things.

To be eligible for this role you will need to have min of Level 2 NVQ on mechanical or electrical engineering, good communications skills, as you will client facing. You must be able to keep accurate maintenance records and able to work as part of a time as well as working on your own initiative. And finally, you will also need a CSCS card, however they will provide training course for this and full drivers licence as you will be delivering and doing field repairs.

The ideal candidate would probably be ex REME or similar who has experience of working on diesel engines and who is seeking a role where they can be out and about, and every day will be different form the day before.

In return they are offering a good starting salary of £15.00 per hour with a standard 39 hrs week, with lots of overtime on offer, as well as 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Workplace pension (after 3 months service) and all personal PPE needed. You will also be supplied with a company vehicle when need to go to client sites.
