Installation Engineer (072jc) – Hinckley – up to £30k + Benefits

This client is an established Medical Solutions company that were established in 1988 and are now seeking an additional Installation Engineer to join their expanding team.

This is a dynamic and challenging role, where you will play an important as part of the Ops Team helping them achieve their objective to deliver every service, repair and installation on time, in full, and free of transactional errors.

You will be responsible for ensuring that you and your team are able to achieve their goal by working in a safe, systematic manner to complete installation work on customer sites. You will primarily be installing ceiling hoists, however as part of the role you will also be installing height adjustable baths, height adjustable basins, changing couches, and any other specialist assistive equipment as required. You will be expected to work to a very high standard, ensuring that manufacturers and regulatory guidance are followed at all stages, to ensure the safety of the finished installation.

As an excellent communicator, you are able to build and maintain key relationships with customers as well as colleagues and others. You will be working in a variety of environments and must understand the varying needs and requirements of each. These will range from large building sites, through to working schools and even on occasions private properties.

You will need to be passionate, enthusiastic and motivated by success, a key focus of this role will be your ability to overcome unexpected challenges on site, adopting an innovative and proactive attitude. You will display a positive ‘can do’ attitude at all times to ensure that installations are complete on time within agreed timeframes.

Due to the nature of this role, you will occasionally be expected to work away from home depending on the size and location of the project. You will be provided with hotel accommodation and will receive a living allowance whilst staying away.

Therefore, your key accountabilities will be:
• Installations completed within agreed timescales, with no snags.
• Installations completed to agreed standards, with manufacturers and regulatory guidelines followed.
• Ensuring that records are kept and added to ERP system.
• Follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

And your responsibilities for installations will include:
The focus of this position consists of the following areas:
• Attend handover meetings Installation Manager.
• Load vans with correct equipment and tools.
• Liaise with clients.
• Install equipment to company standards.
• Test and commission equipment.
• Record details and add to ERP system using app provided.

To be eligible for this role, you will need the following personal attributes & qualifications:
• Follow installation instructions and understand technical drawings.
• Operating power tools.
• Working safely at height using mobile towers and MEWPs.
• Working on a construction site environment.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Practically and technically competent in problem solving, using your own initiative.
• Have a positive “can do” attitude, with determination to complete projects from start to finish efficiently.
• PASMA, SSSP or CITB, IPAF Certificates. (Training courses can be provided to obtain these qualifications).

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong engineering background, who works at high standards and who will go the extra mile as you will be working on equipment that can offer support to vulnerable members of our community and as such you will need to be able to pass an enhanced DBS check as well.

You will also have to be physically fit as part of their measures, each host is tested to 150% of Safe Working Load, and that can mean moving up to 300kg to do this check.

In return they are offering a good starting salary, 21 days holiday + Bank Holidays. Upon completion of 5 years’ service and additional days holiday per year will be allocated to maximum of 26 days plus Bank Holidays. You will also get company vehicle after 6 months, company pension. From day one full uniform, phone and laptop. The company also has periodic staff days and bonuses based on the achievement of company sales goals.
