I completed 22 years as a Mechanical Engineer working up through the military rank system whilst working in worldwide locations and finished my military career as a Staff Sergeant, during this time I worked as an electrical/mechanical engineer plus carried out repairs on pneumatic, hydraulic and air-conditioning sub-systems. I controlled Health & Safety, Environmental, Lifting Equipment’ and work input for a large workshop plus ensuring the shop floor civilian & military staff are fully trained and competent. During my time in the military along with completing my military trade and management courses I completed my HND in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Environmental management, NEBOSH General Certificate and LOLER Lifting equipment inspector. Upon completion of my military career I gained a job as one of two production officers working in Contract Repair Branch (Germany) (CRB(G)) delivering a comprehensive, effective and Value for Money (VfM), contracted, engineering support service across BFG supplementing REME Battalions & Civilian Workshops when there is a lack of capacity or resource capability within Germany for the BFG based units plus training or exercises units deployed across Europe from Norway to Greece and operational units including Army and RAF units in Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Falklands, Kenya, Iraq & Afghanistan. As a Production Officers I was responsible for processing and management of CRB(G) production activity ensuring repairs/services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements/prices within agreed Customer Target Dates by providing an effective contract repair service through negotiation, pricing and placement of Low Value Purchase Orders within budget for BFG Customers under Commercial management and control of all work in accordance with the commercial delegation. Project management of all “Ad Hoc”, Exercise and project work, this work will involve management of Customers and Contractors in accordance with departmental procurement policy. Provision of advice, guidance and assistance to the CRB(G) Area Assessors and production Office administrators. In addition, I controlled the Service Level Agreements (SLA) for ten external units ensuring engineering Hygiene and value for money is maintained for the public purse, manages the contract records and quick guide in hard copy and electronic and overseeing the database used to control the work flow of CRB. I was also in-charge of producing and maintaining the operating processes for all workflow, spare supplies and payments of a job from start to finish. As the Armoured Vehicle Contract Manager, I was responsible for planning maintenance of BFG registered Armoured Vehicle fleet. Provide technical advice, on-site support visits, confirmation of Oil Health Monitoring and any contract support. In addition, he is the ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor for CRB and SHEF manager for CRB(G) Health & Safety issues including German contractors during on-site visits plus the Subject Matter Expert for branch Lift Tackle Equipment.
