While working as the Service Manager, I planned and implemented maintenance work packages to deliver a service within the correct timescales. Additional duties included managing the technical support helpdesk to guide junior maintainers in the resolution of defects and issues under their own steam, managing logistical efforts to get spares to the appropriate platforms, and managing the reverse supply chain, getting defective items back to the OEM for inspection, repair, and return to the customer. Much of my current role has been generated by the need to fill gaps in the team’s collective capabilities. On my list of other jobs I also oversee safety procedures within the office/workshops and for deployed engineers, and recently contributed to the office gaining ISO 9000 accreditation in early 2022. Given this, I consider myself a team player in that I’m willing to go beyond my job description to help deliver whatever is required by senior management and/or the customer.
