My client who is an expert in acoustic, sound absorption and reverberation are now seeking to recruit a Business Manager to join their team.

This is a home base role and you will be reporting up to the National Sales Manager, and therefore your overall purpose of the role will be to take full responsibility of Managing the Anti-Vibrations Division. Working with National Sales Manager and implement a sales strategy and plan which secure long term sales and profitable growth. Able to perform complex calculations to obtain product specifications.


Your key responsibilities will include:-
• Vision –Identifying strategic opportunities to grow the Business. Ensure agreed objectives are met.
• Organisational Structure – Observe the company’s sales structure in the light of market and business developments and make recommendations to ensure that the region is properly managed. Ensure reporting lines are followed to achieve maximum effectiveness.
• Sales Strategy – Together with the National Sales Manager help implement a plan and sales strategy for the business which will secure long term sales and profit growth. Promote new and existing products, following pricing levels structures and the optimum product mix.
• Sales Operations – Conduct behaviour, which is designed to achieve long term growth and influence colleagues across the regions to implement these ‘best of class’ practices. Conduct face to face meetings with Key Decision makers; Contractors, Architects, Consultants and Distribution network key personnel. Produce your own quotations, gain project specifications, track projects through to completion, give technical support to customers, enhance the company brands, develop new and lapsed accounts, arrange and carry out presentations for Contractors and Architects, Produce and carry out call plans on a weekly basis ensuring an appropriate split between Contractors, Architect and Consultants, Maintain awareness of competitor activity.
• Key Accounts/ Major Projects - To develop a number of new key accounts and secure major projects and to plan and co-ordinate the opening up of existing customers to the full product range with your region. Work closely with the National Sales Manager to gain increased sales through the National Business capturing a wider product mix for the targeted major projects and existing customers. To support The Senior Management Team with key account management as appropriate for the business.
• Financial Performance – Responsibility for delivering sales results to contribute and underpin the achievement of turnover and profitability targets across the company.
• People and Environment – Team members will associate with the culture of the company and are able to contribute strongly to the development and implementation of the sales strategy. Place health and safety and environmentally responsible behaviour at the top of the agenda and promote the highest standards of business ethics and compliance with corporate requirements.
• New Product Development / Business Development – Gain feedback from the customer on the ground on future product needs, technical developments, architectural and design trends and feed these back to the National Sales Manager and Technical Directors. Equally where new products are introduced into the portfolio take the opportunity to present these, together with the rest of the External Sales Team to the existing and targeted customer base.
• Salesforce (CRM) –You will take a lead role in the entry of data within the region and ensure that you adopt, update and benefit from the system.
• Reporting –You will report in a set format weekly and monthly, ensuring the information is accurate and up to date to ensuring deadlines are met.

Knowledge Requirements:
• An experienced Business Manager with a proven track record of determining and implementing sales strategy and delivering growth and profitability, is preferred, however full training will be given for a suitably qualified individual.
• Successful sales experience in, and in depth understanding of the manufacturing and distribution sector, together with new business development and major project sales experience.
• Customer focus with a commercial orientation
• Business Awareness and Development ability, capable of analysing and identifying market and product opportunities and supporting the business in exploiting them.
• Proven negotiation ability together with strong powers of persuasion and influence
• A high achiever who is ambitious, career centred and likes to work to demanding goals and targets
• Able to demonstrate self-motivation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Personally well Organised and able to organise a themselves effectively, Planning, Problem Solving and Decision Making ability
• Have a good understanding maths and physics and be able to perform complex calculations
• Entrepreneurial, Pragmatic, Resilient and tough.
• Have a good understanding of Construction Acoustics
• Have a good understanding of Anti-Vibration Market in Construction
• Have a good understanding of Anti-Vibration Market in M+E

This role would suit an individual who has a strong background in Engineering and/or Construction who is seeking to move into a very technical sales sector. The ideal individual would probably be ex SNCO/WO or Officer, but my client is open to all applications as long as they meet his needs.

In return they are offering a salary circa £35-40k, with 20% bonus, car and all of the usual benefits that will go with a role like this.
