Location: Central London

Vacancy type: Permanent
Sectors: Admin, General, Management, Project Management, Security
Placed by: Ex-Mil Recruitment
My client was formed by a pair of ex-military officers who are one of the UK’s leading legal authorities on high-risk jurisdictions across the globe.

Due to expansion, they are now seeking to recruit an operations manager to provide broad support to this truly dynamic company, and the role will include authoring of client reports, web material and draft press releases, general management of the practice, day to day project management of ongoing investigations, junior financial management and day to day marketing support.

You will ideally possess confidence and initiative and will have the ability to deal with ambiguity, to take charge of themselves and the situation and to shape meaningful outcomes. You will be well organised with the ability to organise others. These qualities may have been gained during a Military career. Although this is a junior position, candidates will be expected to get up to speed quickly; to support this full industry specific training will be provided.

Therefore you will be reporting directly to one of the directors and the reason for the role will be to provide support in the operational management of a dynamic and successful start-up which provides legal advice and risk management support to those who are associated with high-risk jurisdictions and complex environments.

Your role and key responsibilities will include:
• To assist in day-to-day project management ensuring that current investigations are tracked and deadlines are met.
• To assume responsibility for authoring documents, including client reports, web material, draft press releases and client engagement letters. To write first draft proposals ensuring these documents are compelling and to a high standard.
• To eventually lead the day-to-day running of the practice and to provide ultimate oversight to the efficient, professional delivery of administrative duties. To provide assistance with travel bookings and the preparation of short briefs.
• To assist in the management of financial matters, including interfacing with bookkeepers and accountants and liaising with individuals to ensure that invoices are paid in a timely fashion.
• To provide support for marketing and marketing communications including press advertisements, corporate events and tailored literature. To ensure these marketing activities support sales and to work closely with the Director to ensure they align with broader standards and initiatives. Oversight of the client relationship management system.
• To assume responsibility for total office management including ensuring systems and equipment are functional, and interfacing with third party office space providers.

To be considered for this role, you would ideally need the following experience, skills & personal attributes:

• You will be able to demonstrate confidence and initiative. They will have the ability to deal with ambiguity, to take charge of themselves and the situation and to shape meaningful outcomes. They will be well organised with the ability to organise others.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills with all audiences. In possession of the abilities to listen and to communicate complex ideas and solutions confidently, yet sensitively, with senior management, colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners and to simplify complex ideas. Excellent customer relationship management skills, high levels of customer credibility and able to work collegially with all parties.
• Flexible with the ability to adapt to the needs of a company experiencing dynamic and significant change and growth. To have a good understanding of, and to be able to keep up to date with, new developments in modern IT systems including cloud based collaborative working solutions.
• Ideally to be in possession of a degree level qualification in business administration, marketing, or to have built up a similar skill set over a career in the military.

This role would probably suit a JNCO or a Junior Officer who is seeking a role where they can quickly progress their career after leaving the service, who has a strong background in Admin and related areas.

In return they are offering an excellent salary package, was well as 25 days holiday company pension scheme and company annual bonus. But more importantly being part of a dynamic start up enterprise where you may have significant room to grow and further develop yourself in the future.
