My client is a security solutions provider, which bases its services on an ex-military ethos of efficiency and seamless delivery, to a broad range of business from small enterprise right through to global brands. Due to continued growth and the ongoing success of the company, they are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their technical team.

The Role:

The Operations Manager must maintain a safe working environment for customers and employees by ensuring that company policies and procedures are always adhered to. It is also essential that installation engineers are managed effectively in terms of their time and general performance. The Operations Manager will maintain a professional, responsive and quality service to all our clients.

Therefore your principle duties will include:
• Continually review existing processes and procedures
• Measure the success and effectiveness of said procedures
• Plan-out and hypothesise alternative procedures and processes to improve operations and effectiveness of work
• Review time management strategies
• Look for methods of improving the efficiency of staff and resource usage and workloads
• Administer CASH (Mentor) system and review data omissions and correct usage
• Assisting Managing Director where required.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:
• Accountable for providing inspirational leadership to a team of engineers in line with our client’s expectations.
• Set clear goals and expectations of individuals in the team, by coaching and providing consistent feedback.
• Ensure the fair and consistent application of all company Security Solutions policies and processes, including and not exhaustive of; exclusion policies, attendance management, capability, disciplinary, grievance and probation. Lead on decisions around long term sickness.
• Involvement in the recruitment of new team members and responsible for the integration of new starters and their induction into their role. Identify talent and develop any top performing team members in line with the companies training and development policies/process.
• Able to work in each role within the team. Act as a role model in terms of knowledge and understanding of each individual task the team undertake.
• Strong delivery of key communication messages at the start and end of each day that creates a motivated and collaborative team. Also communicate and support the team through periods of change.
• Deal swiftly with any issues relating to staff performance and/or team issues by having ‘in the moment’ conversations, ensuring any follow up action or escalation happens.
• Demonstrate and lead a competent health and safety based culture within the team. Ensuring that all personnel on site comply with HSE guidelines and company Health and safety policies that are in place.

In addition all personnel have the following responsibilities:
• Telephone answering and dealing with client enquiries.
• Duly processing enquiries on computer using Mentor.
• Passing of messages to other members of staff using e-mail or by telephone for urgent matters.
• Checking of E-mail In-boxes regularly for new messages.
• Booking appointments for other members of staff.
• Other duties as necessary to cover for other staff absent due to sickness or holidays.

And Shared Responsibilities:
• Recording relevant documents and information concerning our Quality & other Policies to ISObase.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following:
• Fully comprehensive 5 year work/education history;
• The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication & organisational skills which will allow for clear presentations/briefings, writing of policies, security requirements, specifications and instructions.
• Exude professionalism at all times, will be diligent and accurate in all aspects of their duties.
• Reliable with excellent time-management skills.
• Smart, well-groomed and confident.
• A commitment to providing first class customer service is essential
• Conflict management aware
• High level of Customer Care Awareness
• Security systems knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
• IT literacy would be an advantage
