Engineering Technician / Senior Engineering Technician vacancy in Loudwater, High Wycombe (282jc)

My client has delivered specialist defence equipment for over 30 years are now seeking a Engineering Technician / Senior Engineering Technician to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering technician seeking a new challenge. You will be responsible for supporting my client’s products in service, ensuring our customers are able to achieve mission success 24/7/365, anywhere in the world.

You will represent my client as the first point of contact for customer operators and suppliers, ensuring effective communication externally and internally, whilst providing hands-on support to installation, testing and qualification of complex systems, working alongside company’s field support team.

No two days are the same, and you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge base on products ranging from naval combat management systems and gun fire control solutions through to major sonars, data distribution systems and magnetic influence sensors.

Key Responsibilities
• Providing assistance to the Field Support Engineers and Through Life Engineers in installation/removal, fitting, implementation/manufacturing and configuration activities on-board Royal Navy vessels and within Ultra’s engineering laboratories.
• Working collaboratively with design teams to integrate equipment onto platforms and conducting Factory, Site and Harbour acceptance trials.
• Assisting with the development of new maintenance and test procedures.
• Sharing practical know-how and expertise with the broader engineering team.
• Undertaking inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment remains safe and suitable for continued service.
• Utilising general purpose and specialist test equipment and tooling to diagnose and rectify faults.
• Receiving enquiries and support calls from customer operators and maintainers and working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure those requests receive timely and complete responses.
• Coordinating maintenance and technical activities with suppliers.
• Providing regular progress reports to the relevant Project Engineering Lead, as well as Line Management.

• Qualified to HNC/HND or higher level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Eligible for security clearance to a minimum of Security Check (SC) level with no caveats.
• Full driving license. This role is office-based with regular travel across the group (Loudwater, Greenford, Weymouth) and customer sites (primarily Portsmouth) as required by project demands.
