My client who are a world leader in the supply of aviation fuel in the UK and overseas are now seeking an HGV Workshop/Maintenance Manager for their operations in Luton Airport.

You will be reporting to the Station Manager for the South East region and you will have between 5 to 6 personnel in your team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day routine management of all UK Plant and Vehicle Fitters and oversee the current scheduled and reactive maintenance programme`s within all UK Commercial and General Aviation locations.

So, you will be managing the UK Plant and Vehicle Fitters located across the region and your principal responsibilities will include:
• Manage the UK Plant and Vehicle Fitters located across the region.
• Control and manage budgets for equipment and manning resources.
• Ensure all planned maintenance programs within the region are completed on time and recorded within Planet Facilities Management (PFM) system.
• Ensure resources available to cover unplanned maintenance requirements within the UK locations (GA and Commercial).
• Direct liaison with the General Aviation management and operating locations, to ensure serviceability of assets at locations is maintained.
• Implementation of QHSE standards and processes within the region maintenance departments (All UK locations).
• Responsible for applying all Quality & Technical policies within company Aviation segment for the UK, in line with corporate and Industry standards.
• Manage UK physical assets including Plant and Vehicle maintenance staff and equipment assets, and provide oversight, guidance, training and organizational alignment to achieve safety, regulatory and operational excellence and best practices.
• Responsible for ensuring that the UK maintenance staff are trained and equipped to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of UK aviation operations; specific attention should be made towards succession planning and business continuity capability.
• Manage the day-to-day maintenance operations in supported UK airport storage and into plane facilities.

To be eligible for this role you will need:

Essential
• Experience of leading team of mechanics in a HGV repair and maintenance workshop
• Workshop management experience (HGV vehicle maintenance)
• Formal mechanical qualifications
• Budget management experience
• Strong team working skills
• Strong English oral and written communication skills

Desirable
• Experience in Risk Management/Assessment within workshop environment
• Maintenance of specialist plant equipment and bulk fuel storage Sites
• Aviation working experience

The ideal candidate would probably be an ex SNCO/WO who has experience of running an LAD workshop for Heavy Goods Vehicles, who is comfortable of working behind a desk one moment, and if operational requirements dictate, rolling up their sleeves and pickup up the tools to get the work completed.
