You will be reporting to the Senior Management team, (the Commodore and Executive Officers), and your role will be to ensure the smooth running for the Club and will spearhead initiatives to safeguard its future success and prosperity and will have a team of 4 direct reports assisting you.
Therefore, you will act as central link between the Commodore, the Executive Officers, the Club’s Committees, Professional Staff and the Membership as well as other Clubs, RYA, Suppliers.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Recruiting, training and supervising permanent and temporary staff
• Managing budgets
• Enhancing profitability by organising and delivering an appropriate range of social and sailing activities and programmes
• Maintaining records – minutes, correspondence, statistical and financial
• Overseeing the maintenance and wellbeing of the Clubhouse and the buildings infrastructure
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
• Ensuring compliance with fiscal and pension legislation
• Maintaining Membership service standards
• Undertaking administrative tasks
• Promoting and marketing the Club
• Dealing with enquiries, complaints and emergencies
While there are no formal qualifications for this role, they are looking for someone who is a natural leader, who can motivate and manage a small team of individuals and has a passion for the sport of sailing, but at the same time has high standards which can be passed on other personnel, as the club gains most of its revenue from the day to day running of the Club House, this role is seek to be a key role in the success of running the operation.
An ideal candidate would be someone who possibly has experience in running an Officers or Sgt Mess in their military background, or who has run a sailing club in the past.
They are offering a good starting salary and are seeking someone to work 40 hrs per week but can be flexible on this for the right individual, as well as other benefits to be discussed.
