They are global leaders in Internet facing systems and the innovative application of machine intelligence to the complex problems facing their customers in defence and national security.
They look for people with a passionate interest in technology for new service desk roles within an expanding team of IT specialists supporting their military customers.

And they look after their people and offer flexible working arrangements, excellent salary and generous pension contribution, 25 days holiday with opportunities to take longer holiday and sabbatical time, and the opportunity to learn and grow your skills and knowledge working on intellectually challenging engineering projects.
This is a new role within my client’s Service Desk, working as a key part of a small team of IT specialists supporting its military customers.
Therefore, your role will include:
• Day to day operation of the Service Desk function;
• Provide first- and second-line service desk support to customers to resolve technology problems;
• Management and resolution of incidents, problems, and service requests in line with service level agreements;
• Taking ownership of problems and communicate progress;
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, for example, their Engineering Team and wider military customer base;

• Patching and updating operating systems and other software and liaising with the Infrastructure team to ensure that appropriate cyber security measures are in place;
• Identifying and researching relevant new technologies to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Service Desk.
To be eligible for this role you will need the following skill and abilities:
Essential
• At least 3 years’ experience of working in a challenging ICT Service Desk environment that involved supporting a diverse and demanding range of customers;
• Live within 1 hr travel time of my client’s office in Tewkesbury;
• Be prepared to be part of an out of hours on call team;
• Experienced and skilled in the following technologies: Microsoft 365, Windows 10, AWS and Linux desktops.
Desirable
• Current or recent experience within a military environment;
• Bachelor’s (or higher) Degree in Computing or other discipline relevant to Information Systems / Information Technology or equivalent.
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be able to pass and maintain DV level of vetting.
The ideal candidate would probably be coming from an IS systems background, holding or have held DV clearance in the past and you must be living within 1 hours commute of their office as this is also part of the SLA for call out reasons as state above.
In return they are offering a good starting salary and package as stated above but will also offer ongoing training and development as they see this department being the first entry point for everyone in the company and depending on your skills, knowledge, and abilities, you can move and develop within the company going forwards.

On retiring from the Army, I was most fortunate to find such an invaluable mentor as JC. His positive approach, professionalism and shrewd insights were essential factors in my successful job application. With his personal military experience combined with a comprehensive knowledge of civilian employment requirements and opportunities, he is especially well-placed to provide guidance, scope individual needs and identify employment possibilities.

I have found the process with you and your company to be nothing short of fantastic and you have simplified it in a way, that makes your company approachable. You are a straight forward man and there is no fluff around anything you say. This is refreshing in it's approach, as most recruitment companies tend to lead you down a garden path.
You are incredibly thorough and punctual, as well as caring about the individual that is applying through your company. I find this empathy, to be nothing short of incredible and it has really helped me to maintain realistic expectations, as well as being able to openly and honestly converse with you in ways that are simply not possible with any other recruitment company.
I hope your company goes from strength to strength and hopefully you become the first port of call for members that have transitioned out of the Military, as I believe there life would be much easier in doing so.

Having had a swift and effective kick-off meeting with Ex-Mil Recruitment our needs were swiftly understood. Within a week we were presented with a range of candidates for interview. Pleasingly, the individual that we subsequently recruited significantly exceeded our expectation for the role and has effectively "bought us" added capacity for the budgeted price of the role.
