We have been asked by a global consulting and engineering firm that focuses on water, environment, sustainable infrastructure, and renewable energy solutions to help them recruit Security Cleared Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team.
As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for:
• Leading multi-discipline projects with a high proportion of electrical work
• Producing electrical designs from concept to detailed design
• Producing electrical design calculations using Amtech (and other approved) Software
• Take an active role in project meetings
• Liaising with both internal and external design teams
• Supervision and development of junior staff
• Compliance with company QA system
• Take an active role in marketing and work winning activities.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Ideally you will have:
• Will have at least 5-10 years engineering experience in the field of Electrical Building Services
• Will have a recognised electrical engineering qualification
• The ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients
• Some cross-discipline experience
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• The ability to exercise initiative to work independently to meet objectives
• Problem solving skills.
Qualifications and experience required:
• Recognised Electrical Engineering Qualification
• Well-developed understanding of relevant British Standards
• Well-developed understanding of Project Stages and Delivery methods (e.g. full design, design and construct)
• Minimum 5 years engineering experience across the full project lifecycle and responsibility for delivering projects
• Will have worked on major Data Centre projects.
You will have a design knowledge of:
• HV and LV Generation
• UPS Systems
• Transformers
• HV, LV and ELV distribution systems
• Earthing systems
• Protection systems
• UTI requirements
Training and Development
My client also has a strong focus on the development on their personnel and training will be a key element of this development whether on internal or external training courses. They will develop a career plan for each member that will focus on core elements of your role to provide you with a clear progression in your career path.
The ideal candidate will come from an engineering background, i.e. RN, Royal Engineer or REME, probably be a SNCO/WO or Officer who are or have already gained your professional registration in your sector.
A key element for this role, due to the nature of the contracts, you will need to be able to hold currently or the ability to gain security clearance as they are seeking individuals who can gain and hold EDV as well as others who can hold SC clearance.
For those who hold SC clearance you will be based out of their UK HQ which is based in the City of London, and remote working will be possible, but you may need to go to the office maybe 4 – 6 times a month.
For those who hold EDV, you will be working in a secure location in West London and there will be little or no remote working possible due to the nature of the project, however, they are able to offer accommodation for those who cannot easily commute on a daily basis.
