Maintenance Electrician/Technician (013jc) – Goole – circa £22ph + Benefits

This company are a leader within their industry, they have grown steadily since their founding, acquiring new sites across the globe in the process. They are now looking for a passionate Maintenance Electrician/Technician to join their successful team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician/Technician to join a world leading company that offers extensive training & progression.

In this role you will be responsible for the maintenance of all Farm and Packhouse equipment including line support maintenance within a high-volume production environment. This role will suit a self-motivated individual who has a core competence as an electrician but a keen mechanical aptitude.

Main duties as follows:
• Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards as a number one priority in accordance with company rules and regulations
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs to agricultural equipment, HVAC, high-speed PLC-controlled plant, filling, packaging equipment, hydraulic winch control systems and site utilities
• Monitor line and machine performance. Work off your own initiative when a fault is detected and decide on action, based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not
• Ensure that all equipment preventative maintenance is carried out both efficiently and safely
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance documentation, following good documentation practices and keep maintenance management updated on maintenance progress on site
• To keep clean any areas in which you are working, including any transit areas to and from the workshop, including the workshop and stores
• Update the maintenance management system (CMMS), records of all changes, stores transactions made and work carried out
• Support the production team in achieving targets
• To oversee and assist if required, with any third party contractors in carrying out their duties on our site as and when required
• Being part of a callout service at weekends, if required, and form part of a rotating shift pattern
• Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job- related competencies

To be eligible for this role you will need:
• Level 3 maintenance electrical qualification
• Competence in working with both 3 phase and single phase in addition to DC controls
• Excellent knowledge of electrical and electro-mechanical systems
• Strong troubleshooting/problem solving skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team
• Good communication skills verbal and written with particular emphasis towards English
• A high level of technical ability
• Computer literacy including knowledge of basic Microsoft packages
• Works well in a fast paced environment
• Flexibility in relation to working hours
• Ideally apprentice trained and qualified Electrician to level 3 in maintenance or above with strong mechanical aptitude
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a maintenance environment, ideally food
• Working knowledge of packaging machines, agricultural plant and HVAC
• Full driving licence

The ideal candidate would be someone from an electrical engineering background, such as REME or RAF, or similar who is seeking a hands on role where you can progress and develop in the longer term and grow with this company that is actively seeking to expand in the short and longer term.

In return they are offer a good starting hourly rate of £22.00 per hour and with a 40-hr standard week this would equate to earning in excess of almost £46k per year without any overtime. With a slightly rotating shift pattern of Mon to Fri 6 to 3 and the following week Tue to Fri 10 to 7 with Sat 8 to 5, with plenty of overtime on offer, as well as further training, development and pension on top.
