Multi Skilled Electro Mechanical Engineer (048jc) – Carmarthen – up to £36k + Benefits

My client who is a multi-million-pound turnover company based in the Recycling sector with two sites based in Rhymney and Carmarthen at the moment, who are currently seeking to recruit a Multi Skilled Electro Mechanical Engineer for their Carmarthen site.

You will be reporting to the Site Manager, and as part of a two-man team you will provide mechanical, electrical and plant maintenance for our Production departments plus heavy and light fabrications and ideally you will have a stronger background in the electrical side to compliment the other team member.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of recycling plant machinery and equipment, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and attending to breakdowns, and therefore you should have both mechanical and electrical experience and/or qualifications. You will also be required to work on submersible pumps.

Your key responsibilities will include:
• Carry out preventative maintenance across the site, ensuring all machinery are safe and fit for purpose.
• Perform planned and routine maintenance assessments, including overhaul, upkeep, and repair of all plant machines to encompass mechanical, electrical and pneumatics activities.
• Actively promote safe working practices.
• Work with Contractors where applicable.
• Undertake repairs and servicing to the highest standard in accordance with work requests and predetermined specifications.
• Fault finding, testing and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures, and parts.
• Effectively communicate with management and keep relevant parties’ aware, seeking advice and assistance when required.
• Ensure maintenance records are kept up to date.
• Continuously look for improvements to the service and for effective good practice within the role.
• Carry out any emergency maintenance required to ensure that when breakdown situations do occur disruption is minimised.
• Ensure general housekeeping of the workshop and other areas of work is maintained as well as work to Health & Safety standards.
• Comply with safe systems of work for the task in line with organisational procedures and work to the system.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following knowledge and skills:
• Proven Mechanical Skills
• Electrical skills with recognized engineering qualification/apprenticeship and a formal electrical qualification such as 17th/18th edition IEE Wiring Regulations and electrical installation (required).
• Experience in conveyors, shredders, and recycling equipment would be an advantage.
• FLT and MEWP training an advantage, however training can be available on site.
• Ability to work under pressure and work to deadlines and achieve targets.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• An understanding of fire systems, however additional training will be considered for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a flexible approach and be able to work unsupervised and has the ability to work under pressure. You be fault finding in both electrical and mechanical systems. This site is a recycling site that deals with liquid waste reclamation which covers paint, oils etc and they are seeking a hands-on individual who wants to work on the tools.

In return they are offing a good starting salary between £32-36k, 28 days leave, Company Pension Private Medical insurance Perkbox scheme, as well as free on-site parking, canteen when on site, as well as joining a company on the ground floor that is looking to expand and grow in the future.
